It is the Ogle County Highway Department's policy that any new entrance or modification to an existing entrance is considered private work. All materials, labor, and equipment shall be paid for by the property owner or his/her representative. The Ogle County Highway Department requires the pipe to be new, galvanized, corrugated, steel pipe with a minimum length of 28 feet. The pipe shall be backfilled with aggregate (C.A. 6 or similar gradation).

After submitting the Entrance Permit Request, a Highway Department representative will inspect the proposed location for adequate sight distance and drainage requirements. The petitioner will be contacted by that representative. Two copies of the permit will be mailed to the owner and owner's contact. One copy shall be signed by the owner and returned to the Highway Department prior to beginning the entrance work. After the construction is accepted by the Ogle County Highway Department, the Highway Department shall assume future maintenance of the entrance.
