When do the weeds at intersections get
mowed down?
Each year the Ogle County Highway Department sprays for weeds and brush along
roadsides and guardrail. Weeds under guardrail are sprayed in late spring. Weeds
along roadsides are spraying early summer. In mid-fall, the roadsides are
sprayed again to control brush growth. In the event some weeds pop up despite
the control measures, our mowing crews cut them during their maintenance program
of mowing roadside ditches.
