Daily News Release

Driving While License Suspended

On 08/14/19 at approximately 10:39 p.m., Deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 16000 block of West Illinois Rte 72. After further investigation Montana Ils, age 22 of Freeport, was placed under arrest for Driving While License Suspended. Ils was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she was held in lieu of bond.

Possession of a Controlled Substance

On 08/15/19 at 7:24 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 7000 block of North IL Rte 251 for an Equipment Violation. After a short investigation Trendall Lewis, age 37 of Rochelle, was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance. Lewis was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

Warrant Arrest

On 08/15/19 Mariko Ubale, age 26 of Chicago, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for Driving 26-34 Miles Per Hour Over the Limit. Ubale posted the $5,000/10% bond and was released from the Ogle County Jail with a return court date of 09/06/19 at 9:00 a.m.

Traffic Arrests

On 8-11-19 at 5:03 p.m., Deputies responded to the area of Illinois Rte 251 and  Linda Ave. for a subject laying in  the ditch.  After a short investigation Deputies arrested Ruth David, age 31 of Aurora, for Battery; Jason Nykaza, age 35 of Oglesby, for DUI; and Lawrence Wood, age 40 of Marengo,  for Obstruction of a Police Officer.  All were transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.  Deputies were assisted on scene by Hillcrest and Rochelle Fire Departments.

Driving While License Suspended

On 08/09/19 at 10:47 p.m., following a traffic stop on I88 at mile marker 75, Deputies arrested Jose Ruiz, age 43 of Zion, for Driving While License Suspended.  Ruiz was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.  Deputies were assisted on scene by Rochelle Police.

Driving While License Suspended

On 08/10/19 at 10:13 p.m., following a traffic stop on I88 at mile marker 76, Deputies arrested Takita L. Spearman-Whitfield, age 32 of Rockford, for Driving While License Suspended.  Spearman-Whitfield was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.  Deputies were assisted on scene by Rochelle Police.

Driving While License Suspended

On 08/09/19 at 10:28 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies conducted a traffic stop on I-88 at mile marker 77 westbound for an equipment violation. After an investigation Amanda Ramsey, age 36 of Rochelle, was arrested for Driving While License Suspended. Ramsey was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

Driving While License Suspended

On 8/9/2019 at approximately 4:47 PM Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies performed a traffic stop at the intersection of IL Rte. 64 and Evergreen Road.  After investigation, Deputies placed James Emery, age 36 of Leaf River under arrest for Driving While License Suspended.  Emery was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.   

Theft Arrests

On 8/8/19 at 11:15 am, Ogle County Detectives arrested Grant E. McDonald, age 34 of Byron, and  Leanna C. Myers, age 30 of Byron. McDonald was charged with Theft Over $500, a class 4 Felony and Myers was charged with Theft Under $500, a class A Misdemeanor. The arrests stem from a joint investigation with the Byron Police Department into items that were stolen from residences in Byron and rural Monroe Center. Both McDonald and Myers were transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond. 

Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child

On 8/8/19 Duane D. Upchurch, age 54 of Byron, was arrested on an Ogle County arrest warrant for four counts of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child, class X Felonies and two counts of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse, class 2 Felonies. The arrests stem from an investigation the Ogle County Sheriff's Office began in March of 2019 in which Upchurch is alleged to have sexual contact with two female minors. Upchurch's bond was set at $500,000, 10% applies. 

Warrant Arrest

On 08/08/19 Duane Upchurch, 54, of Byron was arrested for Predatory Criminal Sex Assualt on Child and Aggravated Criminal Sex Abuse warrant. Upchurch has a bond of $500,000/10%. Upchurch will appear in court on 08/09/19 at 1300. Upchurch remains in the Ogle County jail.

Warrant Arrest

On 08/06/19 James Waller, age 52 of Leaf River, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for Failure to Appear. Waller posted the $75.00 full cash bond and was released from the Ogle County Jail with a return court date of 08/26/19 at 9:00 a.m.

Driving While License Suspended

On 08-07-19 the Ogle County Sheriff's Office arrested Kevin Jones age 39 of Stillman Valley for Driving While License Suspended. Jones was arrested by Deputies on Rte 72 near Armour Rd after being stopped for speeding. Jones was held in lieu of bond at the Jail.

Driving While License Suspended

On 8/6/2019 at approximately 2:10 PM Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies performed a traffic stop at the intersection of Freeport Road and Springdale Road.  After investigation, Deputies placed Patrick Legel, age 44 of Freeport under arrest for Driving While License Suspended.  Legel was additionally issued a citation for Operating an Uninsured Vehicle.  Legel was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond. 

Criminal Damage to Property

On 08/05/19 at approximately 3:40 am Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a disturbance at the Shangria La Trailer Park in rural Rochelle. Puruant to the investigation, Ruben Ramirez, 51, Rochelle was arrested for Criminal Damage to Property and Disorderly Conduct. Ramirez was confined at the Ogle County Jail in lieu of bond. Sheriff's Deputies were assisted by the Rochelel Police Department.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

 
ON August 4, 2019 AT 1533 HOURS THE OGLE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE, OREGON FIRE DEPARTMENT, AND THE OREGON AMBULANCE RESPONDED TO A ONE VEHICLE ACCIDENT WITH INJURIES AT THE INTERSECTION OF RT 64 AND LIMKILN RD. A TAN TOYOTA RAV 4 WAS WESTBOUND ON RT 64 ATTEMPTING TO TURN RIGHT ONTO LIMEKILN RD. THE TOYOTA STRUCK THE EMBANKMENT IN THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF THE INTERSECTION. THE DRIVER SHERRY L. BUTLER AGE 63 OF GENOA WAS TRANSPORTED TO KSB HOSPITAL BY OREGON EMS WITH MINOR INJURIES. BUTLER WAS ISSUED CITATIONS FOR FAILURE TO REDUCE SPEED TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT, ILLEGAL TRANSPORTATION OF ALCOHOL, AND DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE. BULTER WAS GIVEN AN IBOND WITH A SEPTEMBER COURT DATE.

D.U.I

On 08-03-19 the Ogle County Sheriff's Office responded to a one vehicle crash on Prairie Moon Drive. As a result Deputies arrested Nanette Estes age 46, of Rochelle for D.U.I. Estes was held in lieu of bond at the Ogle County Jail.

Possession of Controlled Substance

On 08/03/19 Kyle W. Thunberg, age 30 of Sycamore, was arrested in the 4700 block of N German Church Rd. for Possession of Controlled substance.  Innocent until proven guilty.

One Vehicle Accident

On 08/03/19 at 8:33 PM the Ogle County Sheriff's Office and Lynn Scott Rock Ambulance responded to a motorcycle crash on I-39 near mile marker 106. Investigation by deputies revealed that a n/bnd motorcycle operated by Brenton Cleveland age 21 of Kingston il had skidded off the roadway and ejected Cleveland into the median. Cleveland was transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital for what appeared to be non life threatening injuries.

Driving While License Suspended

On 08-02-19 at approximately 7:49am, Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 3000 Block S. IL Rte 251 for a moving violation. After a short investigation deputies arrested Jamal HN Graves, 27, of Rockford for Driving While Licenses Suspended. Jamal was then transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieau of bond.

Single Vehicle Motorcycle Accident

On 08-02-19, at 1820 hours, Deputies responded to the report of a single vehicle motorcycle accident in the 5000 block of W IL Route 64. Upon conducting an investigation, James Blasz age 75 along with passenger Carol Blasz age 71 of Miles, IA were traveling eastbound when they veered off of the roadway and into the ditch.  The motorcycle overturned and both riders were ejected.  James and Carol were transported to KSB Hospital in Dixon by Mount Morris EMS and Polo EMS were they were treated for no life threatening injuries.  

Two Vehicle Accident

On 07/31/19 at 4:43 PM Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies were advised of a two vehicle accident at the intersection of Leaf River Rd and Mud Creek Rd.  After a short investigation it was learned that a 2002 Toyota Rav4 driven by a 16 year old Juvenile from Leaf River was traveling south on Leaf River, failed to stop at the intersection of Mud Creek Rd colliding with a 2019 Nissan Altima driven by Lori O'Drobinak 59 of Tampa, Florida.  No injuries were reported.  The Juvenile was issued a citation for failure to stop at an intersection.  Crash remains under investigation.

Driving While License Suspended

On 07-30-19, at 2350 hours, Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 19000 block of E IL Route 64.  Upon completing an investigation, Brandy Chester age 40 of Rockford, was arrested for Driving While License Suspended. Chester was also cited for Speeding and transported to the Ogle County Jail where she was held in lieu of bond.

No Valid Driver's License

On 07/28/19 at approximately 11:59 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 8000 block of North Illinois Rte 2. After further investigation, Damaria Franklin, age 20 of Skokie, was placed under arrest for No Valid Driver's License. Franklin was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

Driving While License Suspended

On 07-29-2019 at 7:15 am, Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 10000 block of IL Rte 72, for a License/Registartion violation. After a brief investigation, Deputies arrested Samuel J. Rhea , 41, of Leaf River for Driving while License Suspended. Samuel was then transported to the Ogle County Jail in lieu of bond.

Driving While License Suspended

On 07/28/19 at approximately 1:40 a.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 10000 block of North Baileyville Rd. After further investigation Roger Colin, age 33 of Freeport, was placed under arrest for Driving While License Suspended. Colin was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

Warrant Arrest

On 07/26/19 Andrew Schopp, age 25 of Rochelle, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for 2 counts of Aggravated Battery. Schopp posted the $25,000/10% bond and was released with a return court date of 08/16/19 at 9:00 a.m.

Unlawful Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor

On 07/27/19 at 1:54 a.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the 900 block of North River Rd. for the report of a possible crash. After an investigation, it was determined that Laura Pelayo, age 20 of Rockford, had driven her vehicle off of the roadway and crashed into the west ditch. Pelayo was arrested for Zero Tolerance and Unlawful Consumption of Alcohol. Pelayo was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol

On 07-27-19 at 4:49 AM, Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the 7000 block of E. Flagg Road for a vehicle in the ditch.  After an investigation, Deputies arrested Matthew Stevens, age 21 of Oregon, for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Improper Lane Usage.  Stevens was taken to the Ogle County Jail where he is being held in lieu of bond.

Possession of Medical Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle

On 07/27/19 at approximately 6:59 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 1000 block of North Freeport Rd. After further investigation Jason Anders, age 46 of Rochelle, was placed under arrest for Possession of Medical Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle. Anders was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

Driving While License Suspended

On 07/17/19 at 7:53 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies conducted a traffic stop on I-88 at mile marker 76 for an Equipment Violation. After an investigation Marcus T. Heald, age 31 of Davenport, IA, was arrested for Driving While License Suspended. Heald was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

Criminal Damage to Property

On 07/24/19 at approximately 6:00 am, Ogle County deputies responded to the 14,000 block of W. Goose Hollow road in Polo. This was in reference to a report of a domestic issue occurring at that location. After an investigation, Shane A. Imel, age 27, of Polo, was arrested for Criminal Damage to Property and Disorderly Conduct. Imel was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he is being held in lieu of bond.

Driving while License Revoked

On 07/22/19 at 4:14pm Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 5800 block of South Illinois Rte. 2 for a registartion violation. After a short investigation Deputies arrested Lacy E. Debrower ,35, of Altoona, IA for driving while license revoked. Debrower was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

Warrant Arrest

On 07/22/19 Alvaro Mireles, age 56, of Rochelle was arrested for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Mireles had a bond of $3000/10%. Mireles did post the $3000/10% and was released from the Ogle County Jail. Mireles will return for court on 08/16/19 at 1:00pm.

Driving Under the Influence

On 07/23/2019 at approximately 2:00 am Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies were patrolling the area of W. IL Route 64 traveling eastbound when they observed a vehicle traveling westbound towards their location.  As the vehicle passed, the vehicle had an inoperable rear registration plate light, in that the registration was not visible within 50ft.  Deputies conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of W IL Route 64 and Everett St in Mount Morris.  After investigation, Brody Stone, age 19 of Oregon, IL, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Consumption of Alcohol as a Minor.  Stone was also issued citations for An Inoperable Rear Registration Light and Improper Display of Registration.  Stone was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was released to Correctional staff and held in lieu of bond.

Driving While License Revoked

On 07/22/19 at 1614 hours Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 5800 block of South Illinois Rte. 2 for a registration violation.  After a short investigation Deputies arrested Lacy E Debrower 35 of Altoona IA for driving while license Revoked.  Debrower was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond. 
 

Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol

On 07-21-19 at approximately 0154 Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a two vehicle accident without injuries in the 7000 block of N. IL Rte 251.  After further investigation Shawn Skinner, age 24, of Sterling was arrested for Driving under the Influence of Alcohol. Shawn was also issued citations for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle. Shawn was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.  

Driving While License Expired

On 07-20-19 at approximately 10:30 am, Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 8000 block E. Flagg Rd for a registration violation. After a brief investigation Deputies arrested Alejandro Toledo, age 27, of Rochelle for Driving with an Expired Drivers License, more than one year.

Driving While License Suspended

On 07-19-19 at approximately 2:50pm, Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 10000 block of North Il. Rte 2, for a registration violation. After a short investigation Deputies arrested Jerry L. Coffee Jr., age 36, of Rockford for Driving while License Suspended. Jerry was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

Driving Under the Influence

On 07/18/19 at approximately 3:27 am, Deputies conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Walnut st. and Main st. in Stillman Valley. After investigation Megan Tracy, age 37, of Davis Junction was arrested for Driving under the Influence of Alcohol. Tracy was also issued a citation for an Inoperable Rear Registration Light. Tracy was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she was realsed to Correctional staff and held in lieu of bond.

Driving While License Suspended

On 07-18-19 at approximately 2239 hours Ogle County Deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 6000 block of West Oregon Trail Rd. After further investigation Jesse Russell, age 23 of Rockfalls was placed under arrest for Driving While License Suspended. Russell was also cited for Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Russell was transported to the Ogle County jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

Aggravated Fleeing to Elude a Peace Officer

On 07/17/19 at 9:35 am Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted an investigation at a residence in the Village of Davis Junction.  The suspect of the investigation, Jemma J. Atterbury, 32, of Davis Junction, fled from the scene in a vehicle to avoid arrest.  Sheriff’s Deputies pursued Atterbury for approximately 2 miles; before Atterbury stopped her vehicle.  Atterbury was taken into custody and charged with  Aggravated Fleeing to Elude a Peace Officer, Reckless Driving, Resisting Arrest, Disorderly Conduct and several traffic violations.  Atterbury was confined at the Ogle County Jail awaiting a court appearance. 

 

Driving While License Revoked

On 07/17/19 at approximately 6:21pm Deputies initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Pecationica Rd and Montague Rd. After further investigation Jose Claudio-Ocampo, age 39, of Rockford was placed under arrest for Driving while License Revoked. Claudio was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

Disorderly Conduct

On 07/16/2019 at 9:09 PM Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies responded to 15184 West Illinois Route 72 in reference to a disturbance.  While Deputies were en route a female offender left the area. On 07/17/19 at approximately 10:47 AM Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies located the offender from the disturbance in the 100 blk of East Mason Street in Polo.  After an investigation Jessica E Myers, age 30 of Polo was arrested for Disorderly Conduct. Myers was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she was held in lieu of bond. 

One Vehicle Roll Over

On 07/16/19 at approximately 7:00 am, Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a one vehicle roll over accident in the 6400 block of S. Illinois Rte. 2. After an investigation it was determined that a northbound Chevrolet Cobalt being driven by Tahwnee Spencer, age 27, of Rock Falls, had a mechanical failure in the steering. The vehicle rolled over and came to rest in the roadway at the location. Spencer was transported to KSB Hospital in Dixon for minor injuries sustained in the accident.

No Valid Driver's License

On 07/15/19 at approximately 12:47 a.m., Deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 9000 block of North Illinois Rte 26. After further investigation Derek Driver, age 21 of Freeport, was placed under arrest for No Valid Driver's License. Driver was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

Driving While Licesne Suspended

On July 15, 2019 at 10:29 am  Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies stopped a vehicle in the 19,000 block E. RT. 64 for speeding. After a further investigation the driver Samuel S. Boulnois, age 32, of Rockford was arrested for Speeding and Driving while License Suspended. Boulnois was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond. 

Warrant Arrest

On 07/15/19 the following were arrested for Ogle County Outstanding Warrants:
  •  Dion D. Carr, age 27, of Rochelle for Registration Expired and Criminal Damage to Property. Carr had a bond of 2000/10% and 5000/10%. Carr recieved a $3,000 recog from the judge and was released from the Ogle County Jail. Carr will return for court on 08/07/19 at 10:30 am.
  • Katherine Milliron, age 26, of Rochelle for Sex Offender/ False info. Milliron had a bond of $25,000/10%. Milliron recieved a $10,000 recog from the judge and was released from the Ogle County Jail. Milliron will return for court on 08/07/19 at 10:30 am.
  • Joshua Schier, age 42, of Mt. Morris for Failure to Appear. Schier had a bond of $150 and Schier posted his bond. Schier was released from the Ogle County Jail and will return for court on 07/29/19 at 9:30 am.

Driving While License Revoked

On 07-15-19 the Ogle County Sheriff's Office Deputies arrested Kendrick Payton age 24 of Beloit Wi. for Driving While License Revoked. Payton was arrested on I-39 by Deputies after being stopped for speeding. Payton was held in lieu of bond at the jail.

Warrant Arrest

On 07/13/19 Alexander Dix, age 28 of Washington, was arrested on 2 outstanding Ogle County warrants. One warrant was for Failure to Appear ($596 full cash) and the other warrant was for Fleeing to Elude a Peace Officer ($5,000/10%). Dix posted bond on both warrants and was released with a return court date of 08/19/19 at 9 a.m. for Fleeing to Elude a Peace Officer.

Driving While Under the Influence of Alcohol

On 07/13/19 at 9:46 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to the area of 7000 East Rte 38 for a Motorist Assist. After and investigation Michael Rowe, age 28 of Rochelle, was arrested for Driving While Under the Influence of Alcohol. Rowe was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor

On 07/13/19 at approximately 11:54 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 1000 block of West Illinois Rte 72. After further investigation Xavier Nash, age 20 of Chicago, was placed under arrest for Unlawful Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor. Nash was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

Warrant Arrests

On 07/12/19 the following people were arrested on outstanding Ogle County warrants:
  • Ernest Miller, age 30 of Leaf River, for Failure to Appear. Miller was released on a recognizance bond and will appear in court on 07/29/19 at 1 p.m.
  • Mario Pineda, age 25 of Rochelle, for Failure to Appear. Pineda was released on a recognizance bond and will appear in court on 09/09/19 at 10:45 a.m.
  • Samara Goff, age 41 of Mt. Morris, for Failure to Appear. Goff was released on a recognizance bond and will appear in court on 07/29/19 at 1 p.m.

Unlawful Use of a Weapon

On 07/13/19 at 5:55 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 4000 block of South IL Rte 251 for a traffic violation. After an investigation, Miguel Gutierrez, age 24 of Rockford, was arrested for Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Violation of the Firearm Owner Identification Card Act (possession of a firearm with no valid FOID card). Gutierrez was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

Violation of Order of Protection

On 07-11-19 Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Thomas W. Fiala, age 62 of Dixon, for Violation of Order of Protection.  Fiala will appear in court on 07-12-19 @1300.

One Vehicle Accident

On 07/11/19 at 7:05 a.m., the Ogle County Sheriff's Office and the Lynn-Scott-Rock  Ambulance responded to a one vehicle accident with injuries in the 400 block of North Rte. 251. A semi-tractor trailer combination was northbound on Rte. 251 when he swerved to miss a stopped vehicle in the road at a construction area. The semi-tractor trailer crossed over the southbound lane and struck the ditch/embankment on the west side of the road, coming to a stop jack-knifed. The driver, Gregory L. Maturo, age 63 of Madisonville Kentucky, was treated at the scene by Lynn-Scott-Rock Ambulance and refused any further treatment. Maturo was issued a citation for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.

Driving While License Suspended

On 07/11/19 at approximately 12:29 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 2000 block of North IL Rte 2 for a Registration Violation. After a brief investigation Deputies arrested Michael R. Haas, age 40 of Rockford, for Driving While License Suspended. Haas was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

No Valid License

On 07-11-19, at approximately 2330 hours, deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 12000 block of east IL Route 38 on a red Ford Ranger.  Upon conducting an investigation, Artemio Castillo-Arteaga age 42 of Rochelle, was placed under arrest for operating a motor vehicle without a valid license.  Castillo was cited for No Valid License, Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, and Speeding.  Castillo was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

Warrant Arrests

  • Ryan Hackbert, age 36 of Rockford, for Failure to Appear. Hackbert posted the $150 full cash bond and was released from the Ogle County Jail with no further court date.
  • Michel Ndikubwayo, age 19 of Rochelle, for Failure to Appear. Ndikubwayo posted the $275 full cash bond and was released from the Ogle County Jail with no further court date.
  • Travis Adams, age 35 of Rochelle, for Failure to Appear. Adams was released from the Ogle County Jail on a $5,000 recognizance bond and will go to court on 07/29/19 at 9:00 a.m.

Two Vehicle Accident

On July 10, 2019 AT 3:06 PM Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies and Rochelle Fire and Ambulance responded to a two vehicle accident at the intersection of Rt. 251 and Bethel Road. A Kia Serento driven by Savanna M. Von Oepen, age 23 of Dekalb was Northbound on Rt 251 when it lost control crossing over the center line and striking the rear of a Southbound cement truck driven by Jordan J. Lumbreras, age 21 of Belvidere. Both Von Oepen and Lumbreras refused medical treatment at the scene. The accident remains under investigation.

Driving While License Revoked

On 07/08/19 at 8:18 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies conducted a traffic stop on I-39 at mile marker 102 for a traffic violation. After an investigation Tyrus Holland, age 29 of Rochelle, was arrested for Driving While License Revoked. Holland was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

No Valid Driver's License

On 7/8/19 at approximately 7:00 p.m., Deputies were dispatched to the 3600 block of North Freeport Rd. in reference to a single vehicle accident. After a short investigation it was found that a juvenile was traveling northbound on Freeport Rd. and lost control of the vehicle causing it to travel into the eastbound ditch.  The juvenile was placed under arrest and transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was issued citations for No Valid Driver’s License and Operating an Uninsured Vehicle. Pines Automotive assisted in removing the vehicle and the Juvenile was later released to a parent.

Driving While License Suspended

On 07/08/19 at approximately 5:26 p.m., Deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 5000 block of South Freeport Rd.  After further investigation Bryan Allen, age 56 of Bellevue, IA, was placed under arrest for Felony Driving While License Suspended-BAIID Required, Felony Possession of Methamphetamine, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Allen was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

Warrant Arrest

On 07/08/19 Henry Contreras, age 57 of Rockford, was arrested for an outstanding Ogle County warrant for Failure to Appear. Contreras was released on a $1,000 recognizance bond and was released from the Ogle County Jail with a return court dated of 08/26/19 at 9:00 a.m.

Fleeing to Elude

On 07/09/19 at approximately 9:20 p.m., Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a blue GMC truck traveling south at the 4000 block of North IL Rte. 2. the vehicle then continued to increase its speed in attempt to elude the Deputies. After investigation, Danny Roos, age 63 of Oregon, was arrested for Fleeing/Attempt to Elude a Police Officer. Roos was also issued citations for a Non Functional Registration Light and Speeding 15-20 MPH Over the Speed Limit. Roos was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

Domestic Battery

On 07/09/19 at 9:20 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a Domestic Disturbance at 113 North Main St. in Leaf River. After an investigation Deputies arrested Joseph L. Grove, age 69 of Leaf River, for Disorderly Conduct. Grove was taken into custody without incident and was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond. Deputies were assisted at the scene by the Illinois State Police and the Mt. Morris Police Department.

Two Vehicle Accident

On 07-05-2019 at approximately 1:48 PM, Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a two vehicle accident at the intersection of Flagg Rd and Chana Rd.  After a brief investigation Deputies determined that the vehicle driven by Robin Piper age 63 of Dixon was traveling east bound on Flagg Rd.  At this time the vehicle failed to yield, traveling through the intersection at Chana Rd, where it was struck by a second vehicle traveling north on Chana Rd driven by Edward Travis age 55 of Chana.  Robin was transported to KSB hospital via Ashton EMS for minor injuries.  Edward refused EMS with minor injuries and was released on scene. Robin was issued a citation for failure to yield.  The accident remains under investigation.    

Driving While License Suspended

On 07-07-2019 at approximately 2:10 PM, Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 1000 block of West Mud Creek Rd for a moving violation.  After a short investigation Deputies arrested Hunter Diamond, age 27 of Byron, for Driving While License Suspended.  Hunter was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

One Vehicle Accident

On 07-06-2019 at 12:57 PM, Deputies responded to a single vehicle motorcycle accident in the 10500 block of North IL. Rte 2.  After a brief investigation Deputies identified the driver as Jerry L. Dilday, age 68 of Mt. Morris.  Dilday was traveling south bound, when at this time he was struck by a falling tree, sending himself and the motorcycle off the west side of the road way.  Dilday was then transported to the Swedish American Hospital via Byron EMS, where he was treated for minor injuries.  The accident remains under investigation.

Driving Under The Influence of Alcohol

On 07/06/19 at 1711 hours, Ogle County Sheriffs Deputies were called to the 4100 block of West IL Rte 64 to investigate a minor property damage accident. During the investigation it was suspected that the offending driver, Kenneth Adams age 58 of Mount Morris, was driving under the influence of alcohol. Adams was arrested for DUI and cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Adams was transported to KSB due issues not related to the accident. Adams was given an IBOND on the charges with a 08/07/19 court date at 9 am in Oregon.

Driving While License Suspended

On 07/04/19 at 7:10 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop for Speeding on I88 at mile marker 75 east bound. After a short investigation Deputies arrested Dante Victum, age 23 of Dixon, for Driving While License Suspended.  Victum also received citations for Speeding, No Insurance, Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Victum was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol

On 07/05/19 at 12:49 a.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of E. 1st Ave in Rochelle for an Equipment Violation. After an investigation Ethan Horlock, age 25 of Sycamore, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Horlock was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

Driving While License Suspended

On 07/04/19 at approximately 8:40 p.m., Deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 400 block of E. 3rd St. in Leaf River. After further investigation, Laura Madden, age 55 of Leaf River, was arrested for Driving While License Suspended. Madden was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

On 07/05/19 at 2143 hours Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Illinois Rte 64 at Mulford Road, and after a short investigation Deputies arrested Stacey Fiala 52 of Kings for driving while license suspended.  Fiala also received citation for no insurance.  Fiala was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

Domestic Battery

On 07/04/19 at 12:42 a.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to an address in the 400 block of Wayne Rd. in Hillcrest for a Domestic Dispute. After an investigation, Paul Perez, age 25 of Hillcrest, was arrested for Domestic Battery. Perez was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond

Two Vehicle Accident

On 07/03/19 at approximately 11:44 p.m., Deputies responded to a car vs motorcycle accident at the intersection of Illinois Rte 26 and Freeport Rd.  An investigation revealed that a vehicle being driven by James Mumford, age 72 of Windsor, was turning left onto Rte 26 from Freeport Rd. at which time it entered the path of a southbound motorcycle being driven by Justin Burton, age 34 of Forreston.  Burton was transported to Freeport Memorial Hospital by Forreston EMS and was later flown to Mercy Hospital in Rockford for treatment of injuries.  James Mumford and a passenger in the vehicle, Joyce Mumford, age 69 also of Windsor were transported to Freeport Memorial Hospital by Polo EMS for treatment of injuries.  James Mumford was cited for Failure to Yield.  The accident remains under investigation.

Driving While License Revoked

On 7/4/2019 at approximately 9:25 AM Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies performed a traffic stop in the 3,000 block of S. Chana Road.  After investigation, Deputies placed Ryan Harleman, age 41 of Stillman Valley under arrest for Driving While License Revoked.  Haleman was additionally issued citations for Improper Lane Usage and Operating an Uninsured Vehicle.  Harleman was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond. 

Driving While License Suspended

On 7/4/2019 at approximately 2:07 PM Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies performed a traffic stop in the 2,000 block of N. River Road.  After investigation Deputies placed Tabitha Vanbuskirk, age 24 of Dixon under arrest for Driving While License Suspended.  Vanbuskirk was additionally issued a citation for Operating an Uninsured Vehicle.  Vanbuskirk was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she was held in lieu of bond. 

Possession of a Controlled Substance

On 07/03/19 at 8:10 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 2000 block of S. IL Rte 251 for an Equipment Violation. After an investigation and assistance from the Ogle County K9 Unit, Paul Washington III, age 29 of Rockford, was arrested for Possession of Controlled Substance, and Unlawful Possession of Cannabis 10-30 grams. Washington was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

On 07/02/19 at approximately 12:33 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 1000 block of North Meridian Rd. for an Equipment Violation. After a short investigation Deputies arrested Eric Post, age 26 of Byron, for Driving While License suspended. Post was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol

On 06/29/19 at 10:23 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop at Illinois Rte. 64 and Chana road.  After a short investigation Deputies arrested Nicholas W. Gillis, age 41 of Big Rock Illinois, for DUI.  Gillis was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol

On 6/30/19 at approximately 12:18 a.m., Deputies responded to a single vehicle accident at the intersection of East IL Rte 72 and Marrill Rd.  After a short investigation, Michael Peterson and Dena Peterson were placed under arrest for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Michael was also issued citations for Improper Lane Usage and Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident. Dena was issued a citation for Unlawful Parking. Michael and Dena were both transported to the Ogle County Jail where they were released to Correctional staff and held in lieu of bond.

Driving While License Suspended

On 6/30/2019 at approximately 11:01 AM Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies performed a traffic stop on Lost Nation Road just into Lee County.  After investigation, Deputies placed Brandon Barber, age 35 of Rochelle under arrest for Driving While License Suspended.  Barber was also issued citations for speeding and operating an uninsured vehicle.  Barber was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond. 

Two Vehicle Accident

On 07/01/19 at 6:30 P.M. the Ogle County Sheriff's Office along with the Monroe Center, Davis Junction and Kirkland Fire Dept ambulances responded to a two vehicle crash at Mulford Rd and Rte 72. Investigation by deputies revealed that a Hyundai driven by Tommie Roberts age 58 of Cortland had been traveling south on Mulford Rd and then failed to yield after stopping at the Rte 72 intersection. As a result the Hyundai was struck by a eastbound Chevrolet van driven by Rogelio Guerra age 37 of Belvidere, IL. Roberts was transported by ambulance to Kishwaukee Hospital and Guerra was transported by ambulance to Saint Anthony hospital. The injuries to Roberts and Guerra appeared to be minor and non life threatening. Roberts was cited for failure to yield.

Warrant Arrest

On 06/28/19 the following people were arrested on outstanding Ogle County warrants:
  • Martin Chavez, age 38 of Dekalb, for Failure to Appear. Chavez has a bond of $2,366 full cash and remains in the Ogle County Jail. Chavez will appear in court on 07/01/19 at 1 p.m.
  • Jaime Carter, age 38 of Oregon, for Drug Court Sanctions. Carter has no bond and will appear in court on 07/01/19 at 1 p.m.
  • Dan Knaub, age 31 of Leaf River, for two separate warrants. The first one for Failure to Appear with a $350 full cash and the second one for Petition to Revoke Probation. Knaub posted the $350 full cash bond and was released on $5,000 recognizance bond for the Petition to Revoke Probation warrant. Knaub will appear in court on 08/12/19 at 11:15 a.m.
  • Rusty Barnes, age 47 of Stillman Valley, for Theft. Barnes was released on a $10,000 recognizance bond and will appear in court on 07/31/19 at 10:30 a.m.

Driving While License Suspended

On 06-28-19 at approximately 0224 hours Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 7000 block of East Illinois Rt 64.  After further investigation Joshua Dye, age 28 of Mt. Morris was arrested for Driving While License Suspended. Dye was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

On 06-27-19 the Ogle County Sheriff's Office arrested Ricardo Sanchez age 25 of Rockford for Driving While License Revoked. Sanchez was arrested by Deputies on Hwy 251 in Davis Junction after being stopped for speeding. Sanchez was held in lieu of bond at the Jail.

On 06/25/19 at 10:57 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop on I39 at mile marker 102 in the north bound lane on a 2008 Mercury Sable for an Equipment Violation.  After a short investigation Deputies arrested Russell Warner, age 53 of Rockford, for Driving While License Revoked.  Warner was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

On 06/26/19 at 1:49 a.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 8000 block of North IL Rte. 251 for an Equipment Violation. After an investigation, Kristina D. McNutt, age 48 of Rockford, was arrested for Driving While License Suspended. McNutt was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

On 06/25/19 at approximately 9:28 p.m., Deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 17000 block of West Milledgeville Rd. After further investigation Kevin Mon of Mt. Carroll was taken into custody for Driving While License Suspended.

On 06-26-19 the Ogle County Sheriff's Office arrested Sieanna Mitchell age 62 of Sycamore, IL for Driving While License Suspended. Mitchell was arrested by Deputies at Rte 64 and Woodlawn Road after being stopped for not displaying a front license plate. Mitchell was held in lieu of bond at the Ogle County Jail.

On 06/24/19 at 8:48 p.m., Deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 10000 block of North Leaf River Rd. After further investigation Rigoberto Garcia, age 22 of Rockford, was placed under arrested for No Valid Driver's License. Garcia was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

On 6/24/19 at 4:43 PM, Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies conducted a traffic stop at Queens and Bethel Road.  After an investigation Deputies arrested Michael Henry age 37 of Kings for Driving While License Suspended and an active warrant out of Lee County.  Michael was transported to the Ogle County jail and is being held in lieu of bond.

On 6/25/2019 at approximately 11:25 AM, Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of South Walnut Ave in Forreston.  After an investigation Andrew P Rucker, age 19 of Leaf River was arrested for Driving on a Suspended Illinois Drivers License.  Rucker was also cited for not wearing a seat belt.  Haldane Towing removed the vehicle from the location.  Rucker was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

Domestic Battery

On 06-23-19, at approximately 0010 hours, Deputies responded to 111 Main Street in Leaf River for the report of a Domestic Battery that had just occurred.  After conducting an investigation, Tobias Whetsel age 37 of Leaf River was arrested for Domestic Battery.  Whetsel was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond 

Domestic Battery

On 06/21/19 Ogle County Deputies were dispatched to a disturbance outside of 409 Wild Rice Ln in Lost Nation. After an investigation Thomas Fiala, 63  was arrested for domestic battery and disorderly conduct. He was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he will be held until he can be brought before a judge.

D.U.I

On 06-21-19 at 0130 hours, Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 15000 block of W. IL Rt. 64 for an equipment violation. After an investigation, Christopher Mullen, age 44, of Lanark was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Mullen was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

Warrant Arrest

On 06/19/19 the follwoing were arrested for Ogle County Outstanding Warrants:
  • Fred Robison, 38, of Peoria for Probation Violation and Failure to Appear. Robison has a bond of $3000/10% and $945. Robison will return to court on 06/20/19 at 1:00 pm.
  • Erich Huber, 37, of Stillman Valley for Driving while License Suspended. Huber had a bond of $3000/10%. Huber recived a $3000 recog and was released from the Ogle County jail. Huber will return for court on 07/12/19 at 9:00 am.

On 06/19/19 Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 4000 blk of N. IL. Rte 2. After a short investigation Deputeis arrested Manuel P. Estrella for No Valid Driver's License. Estrella was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

Domestic Battery

On 06-19-2019 at approximately 9:07 PM,  Deputies responded to the 800 block Main Street, Leaf River, reference an unwanted subject.  After a short investigation, Deputies arrested Joshua S. McQuality age (42) of Leaf River for Domestic Battery.  Joshua S. McQuality was then transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.  

Driving While License Suspended

On 06/20/19 at 3:03am, Ogle COunty Sheriff's Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 10000 block of N. IL Rt. 2 for an equipment violation. After an investigation, Christopher Baker, age 28, of Rockford was arrested for driving while license suspended. Christopher was transported to the Ogle county Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

No Valid Driver's License

On 06-20-19 at 2212 hours, Deputies conducted a traffic stop at IL Rt. 64 and Kent Rd. After further investigation, Norah Shatwi Alshatwi, age 32, of Atlanta, Georgia was arrested for No Valid Driver's License. Alshatwi was transported to the Ogle County Jail and where she was held in lieu of bond.

D.U.I

On 06-20-19 at 2319 hours, Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 6000 block of S. IL Rt. 2 for a moving violation. After an investigation, Michael Jordan, age 58, of Oregon was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Michael was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

Disturbance

On 06/18/19 at 2043 hours Ogle County Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance at Grubsteakers, Rt. 251 and Rt 64. Responding deputy located a male who bleeding profusely from a stab wound to the leg and immediately provided medical attention to him.  A second male, identified as William Shively age 36 of Ocala, FL, was also on scene and had minor injuries was taken into custody. A female on scene had minor injuries from an altercation with Shively. All three subjects were transported to Rochelle Community Hospital and treated for their injuries. After further investigation, Shively was charged with aggravated battery, criminal damage to property, and battery. Shively was transported to Ogle County Jail where he remained in lieu of bond.

On 06/17/19 the following people were arrested for Ogle County Outstanding Warrants:
  • Karl A. Munda ,36, of Shannon for Domestic Battery Warrant. Munda had a bond of $3000/10%. Munda posted the $3000/10% bond and was released from the Ogle County jail. Munda will return to court on 07/12/19 at 9:00 am.
  • Alex R. Gonzalez, 24, of Hill Crest for Failure to Appear.  Alex posted his $100m bond and was released from the Ogle County jail. Gonzalez has to return for court on 07/29/19 at 9:00 am.
  • Zachery M. Sanders , 30, of Rockford for Failure to Appear. Sanders had a $386 bond Sanders recieved a $1000 recog from the Judge and was released from the Ogle County jail. Sanders has to return on 07/29/19 at 9:00 am.

Two Vehicle Accident

ON June 18, 2019 AT 2:30PM OGLE COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPUTIES, BYRON FIRE DEPARTMENT, BYRON AMBULANCE, STILLMAN VALLEY AMBULANCE, AND THE OREGON AMBULANCE RESPONDED TO A TWO VEHICLE ACCIDENT IN THE 5000 BLOCK N. RIVER ROAD. A BLUE GMC 2500 PICKUP WAS TRAVELLING NORTHBOUND ON RIVER ROAD WHEN A BLACK NISSAN ALTIMA TRAVELLING SOUTHBOUND CROSSED OVER THE CENTER LINE STRIKING THE PICKUP HEAD ON. THE DRIVER OF THE NISSAN CYDNEY R. LONG AGE 23 OF OREGON WAS TRANSPORTED TO SWEDISH AMERICAN HOSPITAL BY BYRON AMBULANCE WITH MINOR INJURIES. THE DRIVER OF THE TRUCK MICHAEL R. DYE AGE 64 OF ROCKFORD REFUSED MEDICAL TREATMENT. DYE’S FRONT SEAT PASSENGER CHARLES B. DOYLE AGE 57 OF ROCKFORD WAS TRANSPORTED TO SWEDISH AMERICAN HOSPITAL BY STILLMAN VALLEY AMBULANCE WITH MINOR INJURIES AND THE BACK SEAT PASSENGER TRACI R. COCHRAN AGE 54 OF ROCKFORD WAS TRANSPORTED TO SWEDISH AMERICAN HOSPITAL BY OREGON AMBULANCE WITH MINOR INJURIES. THE ACCIDENT REMAINS UNDER INVESTIGATION.

  • John Strader, age 31 of Nelson, for Driving While License Revoked ($10,000/10%) and Failure to Appear ($1,959.77). Strader remains in the Ogle County Jail and will go to court on 06/17/19 at 1 p.m.
  • Caleb Fuller, age 43 of Dixon, for Failure to Appear wit a bond of $297 full cash. Fuller remains in the Ogle County Jail and will go to court on 06/17/19 at 1 p.m.

Unlawful Consumption of Alcohol by Minors

On 06-15-2019 at approximately 1:40 p.m., Deputies responded to 306 Errett Road, Rochelle IL, in reference to possible underage drinking.  After a short investigation Deputies took into custody Caleb L. Wilson, age 20 of Mendota, Kendall A. Yeruski, age 19 of Peru, and Anna K. Peters, age 19 of La Salle, for Illegal Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor.

DUI Arrest

On 6/16/2019 at approximately 6:49 AM Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies along with the Polo Police Department responded to the 16000 block of West Illinois Route 52 for a single vehicle in the ditch.  After an investigation it was learned that Arthur J Zacharias, age 29 of Mt Carroll, was driving westbound on Illinois Rte 52 when his vehicle entered the ditch.  Zacharias charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Aggravated Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Driving on a Suspended Drivers License, Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, Unlawful Parking, Improper Lane Usage, Drivers License Expired more than a Year.  Zacharias was transported to the Ogle County jail where he is being held in lieu of bond.

No Valid Driver's License

On 6/16/2019 at approximately 1:41 PM Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies performed a traffic stop in the 7,000 block of N. IL Rte. 2.  After investigation, Deputies placed a 16 yr. old male juvenile under arrest for No Valid Driver's License.  The male juvenile was also issued a citation for speeding and later released on an I-Bond.

No Valid Driver's License

On 06/16/19 Deputies conducted a traffic stop on I88 at mile marker 75. After further investigation Murisetty S. Sandeep, age 27 of Cedar Rapids, IA, was arrested for No Valid Driver's License. Sandeep was also issued a citation for Scott's Law. Sandeep was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

Warrant Arrest

On 06/14/19 the following people were arrested on outstanding Ogle County warrants:
  • Walter Scott, age 32 of Maywood, for Failure to Appear. Scott remains in the Ogle County Jail with a full cash bond of $1,919 and will appear in court on 06/17/19 at 1 p.m.
  • Darryl Beasly, age 52 of Sterling, for Failure to Appear. Beasly was released on a $1,000 recognizance bond and will appear in court on 06/24/19 at 9 a.m.
  • David Walker, age 40 of Sterling, for Failure to Appear. Walker was released on a $1,000 recognizance bond and will appear in court on 06/24/19 at 9 a.m.

Driving While License Revoked

On 06/14/19 Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 16000 block of East IL Rte 64 for an Equipment Violation. After a short investigation Deputies arrested Kyle Brandon, age 44 of Dixon, for Driving While License Revoked. Brandon was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol

On 06/14/19 Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 3300 block of North Meridian Rd for Improper Lane Usage and Failing to Stop at a Stop Sign. After further investigation Deputies arrested Brandon Bradle, age 48 of Franklin Park, for Driving While Under the Influence of Alcohol. Bradle was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

Unlawful Possession of Alcohol by a Minor

On 06/15/19 at approximately 8:39 p.m., Deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 6000 block of West Illinois Rte 2. After further investigation, Cade Kuelling, age 19 of Forreston, was placed under arrest for Unlawful Possession of Alcohol by a Minor. Kuelling was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

Warrant Arrest

On 06/13/19 Taylor Erdman, age 23 of Davis Junction, was arrested for and outstanding Ogle County warrant for Failure to Appear. Erdman posted the $2,000/10% bond and was released with a return court date of 07/12/19 at 9 a.m.

One Vehicle Accident

On 6/14/19 at approximately 11:35 a.m., Deputies were dispatched to the 3000 block of South IL Rte 2 in reference to a single vehicle accident. After a short investigation, James Long, age 64 of Morrison IL, was traveling northbound on his three wheel motorcycle when he struck a large tree branch that landed in the roadway directly in front of him. James was transported to KSB Hospital by Oregon EMS where he was treated for minor injuries.

Driving While License Suspended

On 06/14/ at approximately 8:28 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 1000 block of West Rte 64. After a short investigation Deputies arrest the Andrew D. Gonzalez, age 27 of Lanark, for Driving While Licensed Suspended. Gonzalez was then transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

Domestic Battery

ON JUNE 12, 2019 AT 1:58PM OGLE COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPUTIES RESPONDED TO A REPORT OF A ROLLING DOMESTIC NORTHBOUND ON RT. 251 FROM RT. 64. THE VEHICLE, A WHITE NISSAN, WAS LOCATED IN THE 4000 BLOCK NORTH RT. 251. AFTER FURTHER INVESTIGATION THE DRIVER, ISRAEL GUERRO, AGE 21, OF ROCHELLE WAS ARRESTED FOR DOMESTIC BATTERY AND DRIVING WITHOUT A DRIVERS LICENSE. GUERRO WAS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY AND TRANSPORTED TO THE OGLE COUTNY JAIL WHERE HE WAS HELD IN LIEU OF BOND.

Warrant Arrest

On 06/12/19 Maria Galvan, 57, of Belvidere was arrested for an Failure to Appear arrest warrant. Galvan had a bond of $100. Galvan did post the $100 bond and was released from the Ogle County jail. Galvan will return to court on 06/24/19 at 9:00 am.

Driving While License Suspended

On 06/12/19 the Ogle County Sheriff's Department arrested Daniel Faxas, age 28 of Tampa Bay, Florida, for Driving While License Suspended.  Faxas was arrested by Deputies on Route 64 near Esmond Road after being stopped for Speeding.  Faxas was held in lieu of bond at the Ogle County Jail.

Warrant Arrest

On 06/11/19 Patrick Larson, age 19 of Rockford, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor. Larson has a bond of $5,000/10% and will appear in court on 06/14/19 at 1 p.m.

Possession of Methamphetamine

On 06/09/19 Ogle County Deputies met with a Lee County Deputy at an address on Lincoln Lane outside of Rochelle in reference to an Illegal Dumping complaint that took place in Lee County. Deputies spoke with 49 year old Timothy J. Patzka of Batavia, IL. Patzka had two valid warrants for his arrest, one for Kendall County and one for Lasalle County. While being placed in custody for the warrants, a baggie containing Methamphetamine was located on Patzka's person.  Patzka was transported to the Ogle County Jail for Possession of Methamphetamine and the two arrest warrants. Patzka was left at the jail in lieu of bond.

Motorcycle Accident

On 06-07-19, at approximately 9 p.m., Deputies with the assistance of Oregon Police Department and Oregon Fire/EMS responded to a motorcycle accident in the 1400 block of S. Blackhawk Road in rural Oregon.  After conducting an investigation, it was learned that Timothy Huinker, age 61 of Hillcrest, was traveling northbound when he lost control prior to entering a curve and crashed.  Huinker was located next to his motorcycle in the north east ditch with multiple injuries.  Huinker was transported by ambulance to Javon-Bea Hospital-Riverside where he received treatment.  Huinker was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.  He was also cited for Failure to Reduce Speed and Improper Lane Usage. Huinker was given a 3,000 I-bond and a return court date.

Motorcycle Accident

On 06-08-19, at approximately 5:30 p.m., Deputies responded to the 8900 block of N. IL Route 2 for the report of a motorcycle accident.  After conducting an investigation Deputies learned Jessica Harmon, age 39 of Rockford, was traveling northbound when she lost her balance and crashed coming to rest against a tree.  Byron EMS transported Harmon to Javon Bea Hospital-Riverside where she was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Warrant Arrest

On 06/07/19 at 12:30pm Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies made a traffic stop at 508 Main St. Leaf River. Deputies arrested Joan C. Stanis, 57, of Leaf River. Stanis was arrested because she had an Failure to Appear Retail Theft warrant out of Rockford Police Department.

No Valid Driver's License

On 06/06/19 at approximately 8:13 AM Ogle County Sheriff'S Deputies performed a traffic stop in the 3000 block of N Stillman Rd.  After further investigation Deputies placed Gary L. Long, age 67 of Rockford under arrest for No Valid Driver’s License.  Long was additionally issued a citation for no headlights when required.  Long was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

Warrant Arrest

On 06/07/19 Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies Dylan Bryant, age 27 of Rochelle, in Winnebago County.  He was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County Warrant for Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver, and Unlawful Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Deliver.  Bryant posted 10% of the $100,000 bond, was released, and will appear in court on 6/14/19 at 1:00 PM

Fatal Accident

On 06/05/19 at 7:50 PM Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies responded to  Wendorf Road in rural Monroe Center for the report of an all-terrain vehicle accident with injuries.  Upon arrival, it was learned that Larry Shearer, 45, of Monroe Center, was operating a Yamaha ATV on a residential driveway in the 4900 Block  of North Wendorf Road.  Shearer lost control of the ATV and struck some trees; causing Shearer to be ejected.  Shearer was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Ogle County Coroner.  Deputies were assisted at the scene by the Monroe Center Fire and Ambulance personnel.  The accident remains under investigation.

Driving While License Suspended

On 06/06/19 at approximately 5 p.m., Deputies initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Dixon St. and Franklin St. in Polo. After further investigation Anthony Brinkmeire, age 54 of Byron, was placed under arrest for Driving While License Suspended and two outstanding Stephenson County warrants. Brinkmeire was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

One Vehicle Roll Over

ON June 4, 2019 AT 1248 PM THE OGLE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE, LEAF RIVER FIRE DEPARTMENT, AND THE LEAF RIVER AMBULANCE RESPONDED TO A ONE VEHICLE ROLL OVER ACCIDENT WITH INJURIES IN THE 400 BLK. E 3RD ST. LEAF RIVER. A BLUE DODGE CARAVAN WAS WESTBOUND ON 3RD ST. WHEN THE VEHICLE CROSSED OVER INTO THE EAST BOUND LANE AND INTO THE SOUTH SIDE DITCH STRIKING AN EMBANKMENT. THE VEHICLE CONTINUED WESTBOUND IN THE DITCH STRIKING A UTILITY POLE AND TREE BEFORE ROLLING OVER IN THE DITCH AND COMING TO A STOP ON ITS SIDE. THE DRIVER MICHAEL P. REMHOF AGE 65 OF LEAF RIVER WAS EXTRICATED FROM THE VEHICLE BY THE LEAF RIVER FIRE DEPARTMENT AND THEN TRANSPORTED TO SWEDISH AMERICAN HOSPITAL BY THE LEAF RIVER AMBULANCE WITH MINOR INJURIES. REMHOF WAS ARRESTED FOR FAILURE TO REDUCE SPEED AND DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE. REMHOF WAS GIVEN AN I BOND AT THE HOSPITAL WITH A JULY COURT DATE.

One Vehicle Roll Over

On June 4, 2019 at 3:23pm Ogle COunty Sheriff's Deputies responded to a one vehicle roll over accident at the intersection of Stillman Rd and Holcomb Rd. A blue Dodge Dart was northbound on Stillman Rd when the driver DC Robert Hitchcock, age 32, of Oregon swerved to miss an animal causing the vehicle to enter the east side ditch and roll over into a field. After a further investigation Hitchcock was arrested for Failure to Reduce speedt to avoid an accident and Driving under the Influence. Hitchcok was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he posted bond and was given a July court date.

Two Vehicle Crash

On 06/03/19 Ogle County Sheriff's Office received a call of a 2 vehicle crash with injuries at the intersection of  Holcomb Rd and Meridian Rd. After an investigation it was determined that Beverly Lamkey of Holcomb stopped at the intersection but then  failed to yield for oncoming traffic. She continued west into the intersection and struck a pickup truck headed north. The driver of the truck was transported to Swedish American hospital with severe but no life threatening injuries. The OCSO was assisted by LSR and Stillman Valley Fire Departments.

One Vehicle Accident

On 06-02-2019, at approximately 5:40 p.m., Deputies responded to a single vehicle accident at the intersection of Hoisington Rd. and Water Rd.  After a short investigation Deputies identified the male driver as Daniel T. O'neill, age 39 of Pecatonica. O'neill was traveling south bound on Hoisington Rd. where he failed to stop at a stop sign, traveling through the intersection of Hoisington Rd. and Water Road where O'neill exited the south side of the road way. O'neill was then transported via Byron EMS to the Swedish American Hospital.  O'neill was then placed into custody for Driving Under the influence of Alcohol and issued citations for Failure to Stop at an Intersection, Failure to Wear Seat Belt, Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign, Reckless Driving and Operate an Uninsured Motor Vehicle. O'neill was issued a $3,000.00/10% Individual Bond, with a return court date of 06-26-2019 at 9 a.m. at the Ogle County Court House and left in the care of Swedish American Hospital.

Two Vehicle Accident

On 6/1/19 at approximately 7:23 p.m., Deputies responded to a two vehicle accident. After investigation, Deputies discovered an eastbound vehicle driven by Sean Powers, 46 of Ashton IL, struck westbound vehicle Keri Spinelli- Wittenauer, 26  of Amboy IL. Deputies were assisted by Ashton EMS and both parties were transported to Rochelle Community Hospital where they were treated for minor injuries. Powers was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Compounds and Driving on a Revoked License. The accident remains under investigation.

Warrant Arrest

On 06/03/19 the following people were arrested for Ogle County Outstanding Warrants:
William C. Smalley ,48, of Rockford for Failure to Appear. Smalley had a bond of $100. Smalley was relased from the Ogle County jail on a $1000 recog. Smalley will return to court on 06/24/19 at 9:00am.

Jerry A. Lane-Barry, 36, of Rockford for Failure to Appear. Lane-Barry had a bond of $1550.85. Lane-Barry was relased from the Ogle County jail on a $1000 recog. Lane- Barry will return to court on 06/24/19 at 9:00 am.

Unlawful Possession of Cannabis

On 06-01-2019 at 11:38 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop at Rte 72 and Triumph Rd. on a Gray Infiniti coup for one head light.  After making contact with the driver Mark A. Velte, age 25 of Leaf River, and conducting a short investigation, Deputies arrested Velte for Possession of 10 to 30 grams of Cannabis.  Velte was issued a citation for Improper Head Light/One Head Lamp.  Velte was then taken into custody and transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

Driving While Under the Influence of Alcohol

On 05/31/19 at 9:23 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the area of 2800 W. IL Rt. 72 for a two vehicle crash. After an investigation it was determined Stanley Josephitis, age 43 of Forreston, had crossed over the center line traveling westbound, striking another vehicle traveling eastbound. Josephitis was arrested for Driving While Under the Influence of Alcohol. Josephitis was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond. All parties involved in the crash refused medical treatment.

Warrant Arrest

On 05/28/19 Johnny Reyes, age 42 of Rockford, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for Driving While License Suspended. Reyes has a $10,000/10% bond and will appear in court on 05/30/19 at 1 p.m.

Disorderly Conduct

On 5/28/19 at 1401 hours, deputies responded to 111 Autumneood Lane in reference to a disturbance. After an investigation, deputies arrested Shawn Kirby age 31 of Davis Junction for disorderly conduct. Kirby was transported to the ogle county jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

Warrant Arrest

On 05/27/19 George Monroe, age 47 of Dixon, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant. Monroe has a full cash bond of $100.00. Monroe will appear in court on 05/28/19 at 1 p.m.

Driving While License Revoked

On 05-26-19 the Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Fabiola Villareal-Hernandez age 31 of Rochester MN, for Driving While License Revoked. Hernandez was arrested by Deputies on I-39 after being stopped for speeding. Hernandez was held in lieu of bond at the Ogle County Jail.

Fleeing To Elude

On 05-26-19 the Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Ethan Wallin age 18 of Rockford, IL for Fleeing to Elude. Wallin was arrested by Deputies on Edson Road near Junction Road after he attempted to elude Deputies. Wallin was held in lieu of bond at the Ogle County Jail.

Driving while License Suspended

On May 25, 2019 at 12:03 pm Ogle County Sheriff's deputies stopped a red Honda scooter in the 100 block W. 2nd ST. Leaf River for a moving violation. After a further investigation the driver, Brian A. Rosenbalm, age 37, of Leaf River was arrested for driving whle license suspended, no insurance, and no registration. Rosenbalm was transported to the Ogle County Jail wher he posted bond and was given a June court date.

Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol

On 05-23-2019 at 10:20 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop at IL 251 and Mowers Rd, on a blue Ford Explorer.  After a short investigation Deputies arrested Steve B. Harris, age 51 of Rochelle, for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Reckless Driving.  Harris also received citations for Speeding, No Insurance, No Seat Belt, Failure to Notify SOS of Address Change, Illegal Transportation of Alcohol, No Headlights When Required, and  Improper Lane Usage.  Harris was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

No Valid Drivers License

On 05-25-19 at approximately 0043 hours Deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 6000 block of East Illinois Rt 64. After further investigation Arturo Quiroz-Salinas, age 67 of Mount Morris was placed under arrest for No Valid Drivers License. Quiroz-Salinas was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

D.U.I

On 05/25/19 at 0030 hours Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a 2009 Subaru for failure to signal  at the intersection of 8th Ave and 1st street in Rochelle.  After a short investigation Deputies arrested Chad Wilcox 37 of Franklin Grove for DUI and violation of the Illinois concealed carry law.  Wilcox also received citations for illegal transportation of alcohol and failure to signal.  Wilcox was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

Driving While License Suspended

On 05-24-19, while patrolling the 8000 block of N Freeport road, Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a silver Dodge Grand Caravan.  After conducting an investigation, Nicholas Davis, age 35 of Freeport, was placed into custody for Driving While License Suspended. Davis was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was issued an additional citation for improper lane usage and held in lieu of bond. 

Warrant Arrest

On 05/22/19 Jose Barraza, age 21 of Ashton, was arrested for an outstanding Ogle County warrant. Barraza posted the $3,000/10% bond and was released with a return court date of 06/10/19 at 9 a.m.

Warrant Arrests

On 05/23/19 the following people were arrested on outstanding Ogle County warrants:
  • Dartayvious Sims, age 23 of Rockford, for Possession of Cannabis. Sims has a $5,000/10% bond and  will appear in court on 05/24/19 at 1 p.m.
  • Gabriel Ujcic, age 18 of Rochelle, for Resisting a Peace Officer. Ujcic has a $5,000/10% bond and will appear in court on 05/24/19 at 1 p.m.

Driving While License Suspended

On 05-21-19 the Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Jazmin Johnson age 23 of Rockford for Driving While License Suspended. Johnson was arrested by Deputes at Rt. 72 and Kishwaukee Rd after being stopped for disobeying a stop sign. Johnson was held in lieu of bond at the jail.

D.U.I

On 05-21-19 the Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Tiana Dodson age 30 of Rochelle for Driving Under the Influence. Dodson was arrested by deputies after she drove her vehicle off the road near the intersection of Hemstock Road and Queens Road. Dodson was held in lieu of bond at the jail.

Accident with Injuries

On 05/19/19 at approximately 9:19 p.m. Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the Grand Detour area of rural Dixon for the report of an accident with injuries.  Upon arrival, it was learned that a gray Chevy Impala had fled the scene after striking a parked car and a female pedestrian.  The female pedestrian, Brittany Vyas, 24, of Rock Falls, received minor injuries and was transported to KSB Hospital by Dixon Rural Ambulance.  Deputies later located the driver of the Chevy, Kaitlyn Dexter, 23, of Dixon.  Dexter was charged with Leaving the Scene of a Personal Injury Accident (Class 4 Felony), Aggravated Battery (Class 3 Felony), and Reckless Driving (Class A Misdemeanor).  Dexter was confined at the Ogle County Jail awaiting a court appearance.  Upon release from KSB Hospital, Vyas was charged with Battery to Dexter for an incident that occurred prior to the accident.  Vyas was confined at the Ogle County Jail pending bond.  On 05-20-19 at approximately 9:00 a.m. Derrick Stone, 28, of Grand Detour was located and arrested for Domestic Battery.  Stone was confined at the Ogle County Jail awaiting a court appearance . The Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Dixon Police Department and the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office assisted Deputies.  Investigation is still ongoing. 

No Valid Driver's License

On 05/18/19, at 5:45pm, Deputies conducted a traffic stop at 901 W. Washington St. After a short investigation, Deputies arrested Tabatha Clarkson, 26, for No Valid Driver's Licenses. Clarkson was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she was released to Correctional Officers in lieu of bond.

Driving While License Suspended

On 05-19-19 at 11:39 AM. Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the entrance of Rolling Meadows trailer park.  After an investigation, Marissa Montero, age 28, of Wisconsin was arrested for Driving While License Suspended.  Montero was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

No Valid License

On 05-17-2019 at 2100 hours, Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 9000 block N. IL. Rte. 2 on a Tan Mercury Milan for no rear registration light.  After making contact with the driver Jose Juan Nivarro age (48) of Rockford, Deputies determined Jose Juan Nivarro to not have a valid drivers license.  Jose Juan Nivarro was issued citations for No Valid Drivers License, Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle and No rear registration light. Jose Juan Nivarro was then taken into custody and transported to the Ogle County Sheriff's Department where he was held in lieu of bond.    

Domestic Battery

On 05-18-19 at 0206 hours, Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies were called to a physical Domestic at an address on Sunflower Ln. Rochelle, IL. After an investigation, Jonathan Hoskins, age 27, from Rochelle was arrested for Domestic Battery. Hoskins was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

Illegal Consumption of Alcohol

On 05-18-19 at 0142 hours, Deputies initiated a traffic stop at the 7000 block of S IL RT 26. After a short investigation, Dylan Janssen, 19, was placed under arrest for Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor. Janssen was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was released to jail staff in lieu of bond.

Driving While License Revoked

On May 16, 2019 at 9:19am Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies stopped a tan Chevrolet Silverado truck on Stubb RD. at Tower road for speeding. After further investigation the driver of the vehicle Justin G. Mattson, age 22, of Belvidere was arrested for Speeding and Driving While License Revoked. Mattson was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he posted bond and was given a June court date.

Driving While License Suspended

On 05/15/19 at approximately 3:48 a.m., Deputies initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Illinois St and Fifth St in Oregon. After further investigation Alisza Cremeans, age 19 of Oregon, was placed under arrest for Driving While License Suspended. Cremeans was also issued citations for Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle and Failure to Signal. Cremeans was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she was held in lieu of bond.

Driving While License Suspended

On 05-16-19, at approximately 0300 hours, Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 5000 block of S Freeport road. After further investigation, Brandon Cuddy age 25 of Rockford was arrested for Driving While License Suspended. Cuddy was also issued a citation for improper lane usage and transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond. 

Domestic Battery

On 05/14/19 at 4:09 a.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies along with Mt. Morris PD were dispatched to an address on N. Everett St. near Mt. Morris for a domestic disturbance. After an investigation, Trei Sanders, age 24 of Freeport, was arrested for Domestic Battery. Sanders was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

One Vehicle Accident

On 5/14/2019 at approximately 10:13 AM Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a one vehicle accident with an injury in the 5,000 block of East IL Route 64,  After arriving on scene, Deputies learned a 2004 Chevy SUV driven by Pamela Beecham, age 54 of Mt Morris was traveling eastbound in the 5,000 block of East IL Route 64.  Beecham then traveled across the westbound lane and into the north side ditch before striking a tree.  Beecham was transported to Swedish American Hospital by Oregon EMS for minor injuries.  Beecham was later issued citations  for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident, Improper Lane Usage, and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle.  The accident remains under investigation.

Warrant Arrests

On 05/14/19 the following people were arrested on outstanding Ogle County warrants:
  • Thomas Price, age 33 of Rochelle, for Failure to Appear. Price has a full cash bond of $5,106.34 and will appear in court on 05/15/19 at 1 p.m.
  • Joel Dach, age 32 of Rockford, for Contempt of Court. Dach has a full cash bond of $1,008 and will appear in court on 06/24/19 at 9 a.m.
  • Dewayne Harbach, age 67 of Rockford, for Failure to Appear. Harbach appeared in court and was issued a $1,000 recognizance bond and was released with a court date of 05/20/19 at 1 p.m.
  • Dominic Mireles, age 36 of Rochelle, for Failure to Appear. Mireles has a full cash bond of $883 and will appear in court on 05/17/19 at 9 a.m.

One Vehicle Accident

On 5/13/2019 at approximately 8:34 AM Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the 10,000 block of North Illinois Route 2 for a crash involving an injury.  Upon arrival, Deputies learned Kaitlyn Lawson, age 20 of Dixon was traveling northbound in the 10,000 block of North Illinois Route 2.  Lawson was driving a 2014 Toyota Corrolla, which traveled off of the east side of the roadway while negotiating a curve before striking a culvert.  Lawson's vehicle then crossed back over both lanes before coming to rest in the west side of the ditch.  Lawson was transported to Swedish American Hospital by Byron EMS for non-life threatening injuries.  Lawson was later issued a citation for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.

Warrant Arrest

On 05/13/19 Gregory Knuuttila, age 40 of Cortland, was arrested for an outstanding Ogle County warrant for Improper Use of Registration. Knuuttila has a bond of $15,000/10% and will appear in court on 05/14/19 at 1 p.m.

One Vehicle Accident

On 05/08/2019 at approximately 11:40 AM, Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a single vehicle roll over in the 8000 block of E. Flagg Road.  After investigation the driver of the vehicle was identified as Daniel Lee, age 77 of Dixon.  Lee was traveling west bound in a red Jeep when he left the right side of the roadway.  Lee was then transported by Ashton ambulance to Rochelle Community Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.  Lee was issued a citation for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.

No Valid Driver's License

On 05/09/2019 at 9:50 AM Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies stopped a blue Toyota Scion on 6th St and Jefferson St in Oregon.  After a further investigation the driver Nathan D. Stinnett, age 36 of Franklin Grove, was arrested for Driving without a License, Expired Registration, and No Insurance.  Stinnett was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he posted bond and was given a June court date.

Warrant Arrest

On 05/09/19 the following people were arrested on Ogle County outstanding warrants.
  • Rickey Graff ,50, of Freeport for Theft Control Intent $500 <10K. Graff had a bond of $50,000 / 10% and he will go to court on 05/10/19 at 1:00pm. Graff remains in the Ogle County Jail.
  • Jamie Ross , 34, of Ashton for Failure to Appear.  Ross had a bond of $514.96, and Ross was able to post the bond of $514.96. Ross was released from the Ogle County Jail and will not have to return for court.
  • Virginia Sensor ,38, of Oregon for Driving While License Suspended. Sensor had a bond of $3,000/10 % . Sensor recieved a recog for $3,000 and was released from the Ogle County Jail.

Driving While License Suspended

On 05/09/19 at 6:40 p.m. following a traffic stop for Speeding on I 88 mile marker 76 eastbound, Deputies arrested Tajhenae Adams, age 22 of Elgin, for Driving While License Suspended and Obstruction of Identification. Adams was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond. Deputies were assisted by AC Towing of Rochelle IL.

Warrant Arrest

On 05/09/19 Clifton Clemons, age 33 of Aurora, was arrested for an outstanding Ogle County warrant for Failure to Appear. Clemons has a full cash bond of $1,686 and will appear in court on 05/10/19 at 1 p.m.

Warrant Arrests

On 05/08/19 the following people were arrested on outstanding Ogle County warrants:
  • James Morrison, age 57 of Rockford, for Failure to Appear. Morrison has a full cash bond of $6,447 and will appear in court on 05/10/19 at 9 a.m.
  • Declan Blumenthal, age 20 of Byron, for Violation of a Stalking No Contact Order. Blumenthal posted the $3,000/10% and was released with a return court date of 05/31/19 at 9 a.m.

No Valid Driver's License

On 05/06/19 the Ogle County Sheriff's Office arrested victor Gonzalez age 56 of Chicago for no valid driver’s license, operating a uninsured motor vehicle and speeding. Gonzalez was arrested by deputies on I-39 after being stopped for speeding. Gonzalez was held in lieu of bond at the Ogle Co. Jail.

Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance

On 05/07/19 at 0331 hrs, Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to the Paddle Wheel Inn reference to a disturbance. Upon further investigation, Bobby G Tribble age 44 of Rockford, was arrested for unlawful possession of controlled substance. Tribble was transported to the Ogle County Jail, where he remained in lieu of bond.

Motorcycle Accident

On 05/05/19 at approximately 6:13 p.m., Deputies responded to a single vehicle motorcycle accident in the 17000 block of West Illinois Rt. 52. It was determining that a southbound motorcycle being driven by Mike Elvin, age 55 of Ashton, traveled off the west edge of the roadway. The motorcycle then overturned multiple times before coming to rest in the west ditch embankment. Mike Elvin and a passenger on the motorcycle, Carla Elvin, age 44 of Ashton, also fell from the motorcycle as it overturned. Mike was transported to KSB Hospital by Polo EMS for treatment of injuries. Carla was also transported to KSB Hospital by Polo EMS where she was then flown by helicopter to Mercy Hospital for treatment of her injuries. After an investigation into the accident,  Mike was placed under arrest for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Mike was also cited for Improper Lane Usage and Failure to Reduce Speed to avoid an accident. Deputies were assisted at the scene by Polo Fire/EMS, Lanark Police, and the Carroll County Sheriff's Office.

Warrant Arrest

On 05/06/19 Jay Aguilar , 51, of Rochelle was arrested for Failure to Appear. Aguilar had a bond of $721 and went to court. Aguilar recieved a $1,000 recog and was released from the Ogle County Jail. Aguilar will come back to court on 06/24/19 at 9:00 am. 

Driving While License Revoked

On 5/4/2019 at approximately 4:06 PM, Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the 8000 block of N. River Drive in reference to a property damage crash.  After investigation Deputies placed Gilbert Anderson, age 76 of Byron, under arrest for Driving While License Revoked.  Anderson was also issued a citation for Improper Lane Usage.  Anderson was transported to the Ogle County Sheriff's Department and held in lieu of bond.

On 05/05/19 the following people were arrested for outstanding Ogle County warrants:
  • Nore Hatfield, age 54 of Mt. Morris, for Bad Checks. Hatfield posted the $3,000/10%  bond and was released from the Ogle County Jail. Hatfield will appear in court on 05/29/19 at 9 a.m.
  • Michelle Donoho, age 23 of Dixon, for Failure to Appear. Donoho posted the $218 full cash bond and was released from the Ogle County Jail with no further court date.

Possession with Intent to Deliver

On 05/03/19 at 11:23 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff's deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 9000 block of N. IL Rt. 26 for a traffic violation. After an investigation, and assistance from the Ogle County K9 unit, Jered Allison, age 20 of Freeport, was arrested for Unlawful Possession of Cannabis 30-100 Grams, Unlawful Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Deliver, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Allison was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

Driving While Under the Influence of Alcohol

On 05/04/19 at approximately 12:31 a.m., Deputies conducted a motorist assist in the 7000 block of E. Rt. 64, where they identified the driver as James Smitham, age 79 of Roscoe. After a short investigation Deputies arrested Smitham for Driving While Under the Influence of Alcohol. Smitham was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

Driving While License Suspended

On 05/04/19 at 7:30 p.m. following a traffic stop for speeding in the 3000 block of South IL Rt. 251, Deputies arrested Charles Webber, age 37 of Rochelle, for Driving While License Suspended and No Valid Driver's License. Webber was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

On 04/30/19 the following people were arrested for outstanding Ogle County warrants:
  • Steven Brothers, age 35 of Plymouth, Indiana, for Possession of a Controlled Substance. Brothers posted the $10,000/10% bond and was released from the Ogle County Jail. Brothers was given a return court date of 05/17/19 at  9 a.m.
  • Namiko Sheely, age 47 of Polo, for Failure to Appear. Sheely posted the full cash bond of $452.71 and was released from the Ogle County Jail with no further court date.

On 05-01-19 the Ogle County Sheriff's Office arrested Allen Jimerson age 19 of Davenport, Iowa for Driving While License Suspended. Jimerson was arrested by Deputies on I-39 after being stopped for speeding. Jimerson was held in lieu of bond at the Ogle County Jail.

Warrant Arrests

On 04/29/19 the following people were arrested on outstanding Ogle County Warrants:
  • Joseph Bull, age 59 of Rock Falls, for Failure to Appear. Bull has a full cash bond of $636 and will appear in court on 04/30/19 at 1 p.m.
  • Frank Sherwood, age 75 of Rochelle, for Disorderly Conduct. Sherwood has a bond of $5,000/10% and will appear in court on 04/30/19 at 1 p.m.

Motorcycle Accident

On 04-28-19, at approximately 1640 hours, deputies along with Dixon Rural Fire/EMS responded to a motorcycle crash with injuries in the 800 block of W. Flagg Rd.  After an investigation was conducted, It was learned that Andrew McCray age 66 of Chana, and Michael McCray age 27 of Ashton were traveling eastbound on Flagg Road operating separate motorcycles when Andrew lost control and crashed in the south ditch.  Andrew received multiple injuries due to the crash and was transported to KSB Hospital.  Andrew was charged with D.U.I and received addition citations for Improper Lane Usage, Failure to Reduce Speed and Driving on the Shoulder.  Due to Andrew's injuries he was issued an I-bond with a future court date.  Michael was also charged with D.U.I and transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

Two Vehicle Accident

ON APRIL 26, 2019 AT 2:52PM THE OGLE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE, BYRON POLICE DEPARTMENT, BYRON FIRE DEPARTMENT, BYRON AMBULANCE, AND THE OREGON AMBULANCE REPSONDED TO A TWO VEHICLE ACCIDENT WITH INJURIES IN THE 7,000 BLOCK N. RT. 2.  A SILVER CHEVROLET 3500 TRUCK WAS SOUTH BOUND ON RT. 2 WHEN A GREY CHEVROLET 1500 TRAVELLING NORTH BOUND CROSSED OVER INTO THE SOUTH BOUND LANE. THE CHEVROLET 3500 DROVE ONTO THE SHOULDER ATTEMPTING TO AVOID THE CHEVROLET 1500 WHEN THE TWO TRUCKS STRUCK HEAD ON. BOTH TRUCKS SLID OVER INTO THE NORTH BOUND LANE COMING TO A STOP. THE DRIVER OF THE CHEVROLET 1500 JON R. STANLEY, AGE 57, OF DIXON WAS EXTRICATED FROM HIS TRUCK BY THE BYRON FIRE DEPARTMENT AND THEN FLOWN TO ST. ANTHONY’S HOPSITAL BY LIFE FLIGHT HELICOPTER WITH MULTIPLE INJURIES. THE DRIVER OF THE CHEVROLET 3500 HOWARD C. BARH JR., AGE 64, OF GALENA WAS TRANSPORTED TO SWEDISH AMERICAN HOSPITAL BY THE OREGON AMBULANCE WITH MINOR INJURIES. THE ACCIDENT REMAINS UNDER INVESTIGATION.

Warrant Arrest

On 04/26/19 the following people were arrested for Ogle County Outstanding Warrants:
Michael Sharpe, 45, of Chicago for Driving While License Suspended. Sharpe had a bond of $3,000 /10%, and Sharpe was able to post bond. Sharpe was released from the Ogle County Jail and will return to court on 05/24/19.
Alexandra Schaefer , 27, of Rochelle for Motion to Increase bond. Schaefer has a bond of $10,000/10%. Schaefer did not post bond and will remain in the Ogle County Jail. Schaefer will return to court on 04/29/19 at 9:00 am.

Warrant Arrest

On 04/24/19 Jacob Turner, age 40 of Dixon, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for Petition to Revoke for Domestic Battery. Turner posted the $10,000/10% bond and was released from the Ogle County Jail. Turner will appear in court on 05/17/19 at 9 a.m.

One Vehicle Roll Over

On 4/24/19 at 7:56 p.m., Ogle County Deputies responded to a one vehicle roll-over accident. After a short investigation it was learned that a 2005 Honda Civic driven by Magdalena De La Cruz- Herrera, age 36 of Kingston IL., was eastbound on IL 38 when she lost control as she attempted to pass other vehicles and entered the north ditch, causing the Honda to roll several times. De La Cruz- Herrera was transported to RCH by Rochelle Fire for minor injuries. She also received citations for No Insurance and Failure to Reduce Speed. Deputies were assisted at the scene by AC Towing and Ogle/Lee Fire and Rochelle Fire. The accident remains under investigation.

Traffic Arrest

On 04/24/19 at 11:35 p.m. Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 4000 block of S. IL Rt. 26 for a speeding violation. After an investigation, the driver, Jared S. Mon, age 18 of Dixon, was arrested for No Valid Driver's License, Unlawful Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor, and Zero Tolerance . A passenger in the vehicle, Devin Fry, age 19 of Dixon, was arrested for Consumption of Alcohol as a Minor and released on an I-Bond. Mon was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

Driving While License Suspended

On 04/25/19 at approximately 12:10 a.m., Deputies responded to a single vehicle rollover accident in the 14500 block of West Milledgeville Rd. After an investigation into the accident, Deputies arrested Samantha Brown, age 30 of Polo, for Driving While License Suspended. Brown was also cited for Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident and Improper Lane Usage. Brown refused medical attention and was transpoprted to the Ogle County Jail where she was held in lieu of bond.

Vehicle Accident

ON April 23, 2019 AT 5:00 AM THE OGLE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE, MT MORRIS POLICE DEPARTMENT, POLO POLICE DEPARTMENT, POLO FIRE DEPARTMENT, AND POLO AMBULANCE RESPONDED TO A ONE VEHICLE ACCIDENT IN FRONT OF 77 N. LOWELL PARK ROAD. A RED CHEVROLET 1500 TRUCK  DRIVEN BY JACOB R. MORGAN, AGE 37, OF DIXON, HAD BEEN SOUTHBOUND ON LOWELL PARK ROAD. THE TRUCK LEFT THE ROADWAY STRIKING A GUARD RAIL CAUSING THE TRUCK TO CATCH ON FIRE. AFTER THE FIRE WAS EXTINGUISHED MORGAN WAS LOCATED INSIDE THE TRUCK. THE OGLE COUNTY CORONER’S OFFICE TRANSPORTED MORGAN TO THE OGLE COUNTY CORONER’S OFFICE. THE ACCIDENT REMAINS UNDER INVESTIGATION.

On 04/21/19 the following people were arrested on outstanding Ogle County warrants:
  • Daniel M. Diehl, age 23 of Polo, for Failure to Appear. Diehl has a full cash bond of $451 and remains in the Ogle County Jail. Diehl will appear in court on 04/22/19 at 1 p.m.
  • Enedino Chavez, age 40 of Sterling, for Failure to Appear. Chavez has a full cash bond of $1,346 and remains in the Ogle County Jail. Chavez will appear in court on 04/22/19 at 9 a.m.

Battery

On 04/20/19 at approximately 10:45 p.m., Deputies responded to a report of a battery which had occurred near the intersection of Chana Rd. and Center St. Two injured males were located near the intersection and they were provided medical attention by Oregon EMS. It was learned that the offenders had left the scene prior to law enforcement arrival. At approximately 11:35 p.m. Deputies located the offenders' vehicle as it traveled southbound on Chana Rd. and turned onto Grist Mill Rd. and a traffic stop was performed. After further investigation Amber Koeller, age 26 of Chana, was taken into custody for Obstructing a Peace Officer and 2 counts of Battery. Also taken into custody was Steven Dodson, age 41 of Chana. Dodson was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and 2 counts of Battery.
Deputies later located Patrick Christenson, age 27 of Chana, and he was charged with 2 counts of Battery. Also arrested was Stephanie Mcglinn, age 27 of Byron, for 2 counts of Battery. All offenders were held at the Ogle County Jail in lieu of bond.

Contraband in a Penal Institution

On 04/21/19 at approximately 5 p.m., Deputies arrested Daniel Diehl, age 23 of Polo, for an outstanding Ogle County warrant. Diehl was subsequently charged with Bringing Contraband into a Penal Institution. Diehl was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

On 04/22/19 the following people were arrested on outstanding Ogle County warrants:
  • Kenneth Johnson, age 47 of Rockford, for Failure to Appear. Johnson has a full cash bond of $459 and remains in the Ogle County Jail. Johnson will appear in court on 04/23/19 at 1 p.m.
  • Amber Keener, age 34 of Dixon, for Failure to Appear. Keener has a full cash bond of $3,253 and remains in the Ogle County Jail. Keener will appear in court on 04/23/19 at 1 p.m.

On 04/20/19 Justin D.C. Cockrell, age 21 of Rochelle, was arrested for an outstanding Ogle County warrant for Driving While License Revoked. Cockrell posted the $5,000/10% bond and was released from the Ogle County Jail.  Cockrell will appear in court on 05/17/19 at 9:00 a.m.

Domestic Arrest

On 4/19/2019 at approximately 5:31 AM, Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a Domestic Problem at 203 Bridlewood Circle.  After investigation, Deputies placed John Larsen, age 72 of Dixon under arrest for Domestic Battery.  Larsen was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held with No Bond.

On 04/18/19 the following people were arrested on outstanding Ogle County warrants:
  • Raheem Martin, age 30, of Dupage for Delivery of Controlled Substance and Possession of Controlled Substance. Martin has a bond of $100,000/10% and will go to court on 04/22/19 at 1:00 pm. Martin will remain in the Ogle County Jail.
  • Michael Smith, age 27, of Polo for D.U.I. Smith has a bond of $3,000/10% and will go to court on 04/22/19 at 1:00 pm. Smith will remain in the Ogle County Jail.

Warrant Arrest

On 04/17/19 at approximately 12:32 a.m., Deputies responded to an address in the 7000 block of North Triumph Rd. in reference to a suicidal subject. Deputies located the subject, Joseph Kielsmeier, age 33 of Mount Morris whom was subsequently taken into custody for Resisting a Peace Officer and an outstanding Ogle County warrant. Kielsmeier was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

One Vehicle Roll Over

On 04/16/19 at 5:42 PM the Ogle County Sheriff's Office along with the LSR and Rochelle Fire Departments responded to a one vehicle roll over crash on Rte 64 just east of Hwy 251. Investigation by Deputies revealed that a west bound vehicle driven by Rebecca Spring, age 32 of Davis Junction, went off the north side of the roadway and overturned. Spring and her two minor children were transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Rockford. A passenger, Wendall Reves, age 32 also of Davis Junction, was transported to Rochelle Hospital. All of the injuries appeared to be non life threatening. Investigation is continued by the Sheriff's Office.

Two Vehicle Accident

On 4/16/19 at 4:41 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies, along with the Rochelle Fire Department and Ambulance, responded to the intersection of Ritchie Rd. and Locust Rd. for a report of a two vehicle accident with injuries. Upon investigation, Deputies learned that a 2018 Dodge Ram pickup, driven by Cherie L. Hayes, age 51 of Steward, had been southbound on Locust when it entered the intersection with Ritchie Rd. where it struck an eastbound  2011 Toyota Rav-4 driven by Michael L. VanHouten, age 68 of Geneva. After the collision the Toyota entered the south east ditch of the intersection and rolled over several times before coming to rest. VanHouten was transported by the Rochelle Ambulance to the Rochelle Community Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries. Hayes, who was uninjured in the crash,  was issued a citation for Failure to Yield the Right of Way at an Intersection.   

Two Vehicle Accident

On 4/15/19, at approximately 4:25 am, deputies responded to I-39, mile marker 113, in reference to a two vehicle accident. After an investigation, deputies arrested Gregory Fort, age 25, of Rockford for driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane usage. Fort was taken to the Ogle County jail where he was held in lieu of bond. No one was injured due to the accident.

Warrant Arrest

On 04/15/19 Amanda N. Meyer, age 23, of Byron was arrested by the Ogle County Sheriff's Office for Failure to Appear. Meyer has a bond of $200 and will go to court on 05/20/19 at 9:00am. Meyer remains in the Ogle County Jail.

Driving While License Suspended

On 04-13-19 the Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Tayjuss Johnson, age 22 of Rockford for Driving While License Suspended. Johnson was arrested by Deputies on Rte. 64 near I-39 after being stopped for speeding. Johnson was held in lieu of bond at the Ogle County Jail.

  • Jay Moore, age 45 of Rockford, for Failure to Appear. Moore appeared in court and was released on a $1,000 recognizance bond. Moore was given a return court date of 05/20/19 at 9 a.m.
  • Robin Weatherall, age 30 of Rockford, for Failure to Appear. Weatherall appeared in court and was released on a $1,000 recognizance bond. Weatherall was given a return court date of 05/20/19 at 9 a.m.
  • Jose Deleon, age 38 of Rochelle, for Failure to Appear. Deleon posted the $50 full cash bond and was released with a return court date of 05/20/19 at 9 a.m.

Warrant Arrests

On 04/10/19 the following people were arrested on outstanding Ogle County warrants:
  • Dana Williams, age 38 of Rockford, for Failure to Appear. Williams has a $668 full cash bond and will appear in court on 04/11/19 at 1 p.m.
  • Christian Rivas, age 31 of Rochelle, for Failure to Appear. Rivas has a $342 full cash bond and will appear in court on 04/11/19 at 1 p.m.

Driving While License Suspended

On 04/10/19 at approximately 2:01 PM Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies performed a traffic stop in the 15000 block of W. Lanark Road.  After investigation Deputies placed Bryan Myers, age 63 of Leaf River, under arrest for Driving While License Suspended and No Valid IL Driver's License.  Myers was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

Traffic Arrest

On 04/05/19 at 2123 following an investigation of suspicious activity at the Casey's General Store in Creston Illinois, Deputies arrested Lonita Stokes, age 30 of Chicago, for Driving While License Suspended. Deputies also arrested Pierre Keith, age 26 of Chicago, for a Valid Cook County arrest warrant.  Both were transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

Reckless Driving

On 04/06/19 at 10:18 p.m., following a traffic stop in the 7000 block of Mt. Morris road, Deputies arrested Tyler Nichol, age 20 of Lena, for Reckless Driving.  Nichol also received citations for Possession of Cannabis, Possession of Drug Equipment, Failure to Stop at an Intersection, Disobey Stop Sign and Unlawful Use of Electronic Device.  Nichol was released on a I-Bond and will appear in court on 05/03/19 at 9:00 a.m.

No Valid Driver's License

On 04/07/19 at 12:42 a.m., following a traffic stop at Hitt and Nancy streets in Mt. Morris, Deputies arrested Joshua Mccaslin, age 37 of Oregon, for No Valid Driver's License.  Mccaslin was also issued citations for Speeding, No Insurance, Possession of Cannabis, and Possession of Drug Equipment.  Mccaslin was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol

On 04/07/19 at 2 a.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to the 12000 block of E Flagg Rd. for a car in the ditch. After an investigation, it was discovered the vehicle had driven into the corn field several hundred yards. The driver, Viviana Castillo, age 24 of Cortland, was arrested for Driving While Under the Influence of Alcohol. Castillo was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she was held in lieu of bond.

Warrant Arrests

On 04/05/19 the following people were arrested on outstanding Ogle County Warrants:
  • Eric Book, age 26, for Failure to Register and and Failure to Report Change of Address. Book appeared in court and was given $3,000 recognizance bonds for both warrants and was released with a return court date of 04/17/19 at 10:30 a.m.
  • Ginger Greenfield, age 40 of Oregon, for Harassment by Electronic Communications. Greenfield posted the $3,000/10% bond and was released with a return court date of 04/26/19 at 9:00 a.m.
  • Roman Arellano, age 36 of Rockton, for Overweight on Axle/1st-3rd. Arellano posted the $875 full cash bond and was released with no further court dates.

Warrant Arrest

On 04/04/19 the following people were arrested for Ogle County Outstanding Warrants:
  • Dartayvious Sims, 23, of Rockford for Failure to Appear. Sims had a bond of $3,000/10%. Sims did post the $3,000/10% bond and was released from the Ogle County Jail. Sims will return for court on 04/26/19 at 9:00am.
  • Leslie Brashaw, age 41, of Leaf River for Failure to Appear. Brashaw has a bond of $9475. Brashaw remains in the Ogle County jail and will go to court on 04/05/19 at 9:00 am.
  • Sheldon Wheaton, age 38, of Rockford for Failure to Appear. Wheaton has a bond of $6305.26. Wheaton remains in the Ogle County jail and will go to court on 04/05/19 at 1:00pm.

Warrant Arrest

On 04/03/19 the following people were arrested for Ogle County Oustanding Warrants:
  • Ramiro Avila, 21, of Rochelle for Failure to Appear. Avila had a bond of $396 and Avila did post his bond/ Avila was released from the Ogle County Jail and will no have to return for court.
  • Kyle Lowe, 30, of Oregon for Failure to Appear. Lowe had a bond of $1,292.74. Lowe did not post bond and will return to court on 04/05/19 at 9:00am. Lowe remains in the Ogle County jail.
  • Aaron Clark, 40, of Hinckley for Probation Violation and Failure to Appear. Hinckely had a bond of $3,000/10% and $1177. Hinckley recieved a recog bond of $3000 for Probation Violation Warrant. Hinckley recieved a bond reduction for his Failure to Appear warrant. Hinckley's bond is $175 and he remains in the Ogle County Jail.

Two Vehicle Roll Over Accident

 

ON April 3, 2019 AT 7:53AM HOURS THE OGLE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE, LEAF RIVER FIRE DEPARTMENT, AND LEAF RIVER AMBULANCE RESPONDED TO A TWO VEHICLE ROLL OVER ACCIDENT IN THE 8000 BLOCK N. PECATONICA ROAD. A SEMI TRACTOR TRAILER COMBINATION WAS NORTHBOUND ON PECATONICA ROAD FROM LEAF RIVER FOLLOWED BY A BUICK ENCLAVE. THE SEMI TRACTOR TRAILER COMBINATION SLOWED TO MAKE A LEFT TURN INTO A PARKING LOT WHEN THE BUICK ENCLAVE ATTEMPTED TO PASS THE SEMI TRACTOR TRAILER COMBINATION ON THE LEFT. THE SEMI TRACTOR TRAILER COMBINATION STRUCK THE BUICK ENCLAVE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE CAUSING THE BUICK ENCLAVE TO ROLL OVER INTO THE WEST SIDE DITCH AND STRIKING A UTILITY POLE. THE BUICK ENCLAVE CAME TO A STOP ON ITS SIDE. THE DRIVER OF THE BUICK ENCLAVE, DIANE HEMMERSBACH AGE 51 OF LEAF RIVER, WAS EXTRICATED FROM THE VEHICLE BY THE LEAF RIVER FIRE DEPARTMENT. HEMMERSBACH REFUSED MEDICAL ATTENTION AND WAS RELEASED AT THE SCENE. THE ACCIDENT REMAINS UNDER INVESTIGATION.

Driving While License Revoked

On 04/01/2019 at approximately 11:48 AM Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 4000 block of South Illinois Route 26 on a gray Jeep.  After an investigation Shawn McCarty, age 42 of Urbana, was arrested for Driving on a Revoked License and Speeding.  McCarty was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

Two Vehicle Accident

On 4/1/2019 at approximately 3:59 PM Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies, along with the Mt Morris Police Department and Mt Morris Fire and EMS responded to a two vehicle accident in the 4000 block of West Illinois Route 64.  After an investigation it was learned that Hannah M Repass, age 19 of Mt Morris, struck the rear of the vehicle that was in front of her.  Repass refused all medical treatment and her vehicle was removed from the scene by Blake's Towing.  The second vehicle was driven by Connie L. Blake, age 69 of Mt Morris.  Blake was transported to Rockford Memorial by Mt Morris EMS for minor injuries.

Driving While License Suspended

On 04/01/19 at approximately 8:13 p.m., Deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 2000 block of North Freeport Rd. After further investigation Akin Rasa, age 43 of Ottumwa, IA, was placed under arrested for Driving While License Suspended and No Valid Driver's License. Rasa was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

On 04/01/19 the following people were arrested on outstanding Ogle County Warrants:
  • Blake Bakkala, age 19 of Machesney Park, for Failure to Appear. Bakkala posted the $50.00 full cash bond and was released from the Ogle County Jail with a return court date of 04/29/19 at 9 a.m.
  • Norma Delgado, age 39 of Rockford, for Driving While License Suspended. Delgado posted the $3,000/10% bond and was released from the Ogle County Jail with a return court date of 04/26/19 at 9 a.m.

No Valid Driver's License

On 03/31/19 Ogle County Deputies conduced a traffic stop in the 20000 blk E IL Rte 64 for speeding. As a result of the stop Juan Sanchez-Mendez was arrested for No Valid Driver's License. He was also cited for speeding. Juan Sanchez-Mendez  was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he will be held in lieu of bond.

Vandalism

The Ogle County Sheriff's Office concluded an investigation into several incidents of vandalism on River Road in the Byron area. On 03/30/19 Sheriff's Deputies took into custody two juveniles age 11 and 15 and then released them to their parents.

Traffic Arrest

On 03/28/19 at 10:29 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 9000 block of Illinois Rt. 72 on a 2003 Ford Taurus. After a short investigation Deputies arrested Theresa Mclain, age 31 of Rockford, for No Valid Driver's License and Possession of a Controlled Substance. Mclain was also issued citations for No Insurance, Improper Lane Usage, and Possession of Cannabis. Mclain was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she was held in lieu of bond.

On 03/27/19 the following people were arrested on outstanding Ogle County warrants:
Carrie Bell, age 41 of Rockford, for Failure to Appear. Bell has a bond of $350 full cash and will appear in court on 04/01/19 at 1 p.m.
Melvin Kutsch, age 61 of Davenport IA., for Driving While License Revoked. Kutsch posted the $3,000/10% bond and will appear in court on 04/26/19 at 9 a.m.

Domestic Battery

On 3/28/19 at 1:46 PM, Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the 6000 block of Leaf River Road for a report of a physical domestic.  After a short investigation deputies arrested Tyler Bunting, 28 of Leaf River, for Domestic Battery and Reckless Conduct.  Bunting was transported to the Ogle County Correctional Center and held in lieu of bond.

Driving with No Valid Driver's License

On 03/28/19 at 8:46 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 20000 block of E. IL Rt. 64 for an equipment violation. After an investigation , Jonathan Reyes, age 19 of Elgin, was arrested for Driving with No Valid Driver's License. Reyes was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

Warrant Arrest

On 03/24/19 Shelly Nelson, age 45 of Rockford, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for Driving While Under the Influence of Alcohol. Nelson posted the $10,000/10% bond and will appear in court on 04/12/19 at 9 a.m.

On 03/25/19 the following were arrested for Ogle County Outstanding Warrants:
  • Christopher E. Rangel, 33, of Rochelle was arrested for Failure to Appear. Rangel appeared in court on 03/26/19 at 1:00pm. Rangel was given a $1,000 recog. Rangel will return to court on 04/29/19 at 9:00 am. Rangel was released from the Ogle County Jail.
  • Manuel F. Rivera, 23, of Rochelle was arrested for Operate Uninsured Vehicle warrant. Rivera had a bond of $2000/10%. Rivera did post the bond of $2000/10%. Rivera will return to court on 04/26/19 at 9:00am. Rivera was released from the Ogle County Jail.

Warrant Arrest

On 03/23/19 Leslie Nicolosi, age 63 of Rockford, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for Failure to Appear. Nicolosi was released on a $1,000 recognizance bond and will appear in court on 04/29/19 at 9 a.m.

Two Vehicle Accident

On 03/23/2019 at approximately 1:30 PM, Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the 9000 block of West Town Line Road in reference to a two vehicle accident.  After an investigation it was learned that Matthew Akins, age 19 of Leaf River, had observed a vehicle in the oncoming lane.  Akins attempted to avoid the vehicle, at which point the vehicle collided.  Both vehicles were removed from the scene by Haldane Towing.  Akins was issued a citation for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.  The driver of the second vehicle, Olayiwola Lawal-Obelawo, age 40 of Mundelein, was transported to FHN Hospital by Forreston EMS for minor injuries.

Fatal Accident

On 03/22/19 at approximately 5:05 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies and the Lynn-Scott-Rock Fire Department were dispatched to the intersection of IL Rte. 251 and Lindenwood Road in rural Lindenwood, for the report of an accident with injuries.  A blue 2009 Honda SUV was driving north on IL Rte. 251, attempting to turn right onto Lindenwood Road.  A gray 2010 Dodge truck was also northbound on IL Rte. 251 following the Honda.  Prior to the Honda completing its right turn, the Dodge truck drove onto the right shoulder of IL Rte. 251 striking the Honda.  The Dodge truck then lost control and rolled over, coming to rest on its roof in the northbound lane of IL Rte. 251.  The driver of the Honda, Katrina Weir, 24, of Monroe Center, was not injured.  The driver of the Dodge, William Doane, 71, of Davis Junction, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Ogle County Coroner.  Sheriff’s Deputies were assisted at the scene by the Illinois State Police, Rochelle Fire Department and REACT helicopter.  Accident remains under investigation.   

Traffic Arrest

On 03/19/19 at approximately 10:23 p.m., Deputies initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Illinois Rt 2 and Patricia Dr. After further investigation Matthew Capella, age 31 of Springfield, was placed under arrest for Driving While License Suspended and No Valid Drivers License. Capella was also cited for Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle and Improper Display of Registration. A passenger in the vehicle, Amy Shea, age 25 of Ashlund, was placed under arrest for an outstanding Ogle County warrant. Both Capella and Shea were transported to the Ogle County Jail where they were held in lieu of bond.

Possession of Controlled Substance

on 03-20-19, at approximately 2245 hours deputies responded to the 7000 block of E. Grist Mill Rd for a one vehicle crash.  After conducting an investigation, Glyde Wilson Jr. age 40 of Rochelle was arrested and charged with Possession of Controlled substance, Driving Under the Influence, Possession of Cannabis 10-30grams.  Wilson also received citations for Improper Lane Usage, Failure to Reduce Speed, and Driving on the Shoulder.  Wilson was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

Warrant Arrest

On 03/18/19 Jose Saenz, age 30 of Sterling, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for Failure to Appear. Saenz appeared in court and was released on a $1,000 recognizance bond. Saenz will appear in court on 04/29/19 at 9 a.m.

Driving While License Suspended

On 03/18/19 at approximately 9:14 p.m., Deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 5000 block of West Illinois Rt 72.  After further investigation Aryiel Basaldu, age 24 of Forreston, was placed under arrest for Driving While License Suspended. Basaldua was also cited for Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, Speeding, Expired Registration, Possession of Cannabis, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Basaldua was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she was held in lieu of bond.

One Vehicle Accident

On 03/18/19 at 2:32 p.m., Deputies responded to the 8000 block of South Illinois Rt 2 for a  vehicle versus telephone pole accident. It was determined that Hallie Diveley, age 23 of Dixon, was traveling north on Rt 2 when a suspension malfunction occurred causing her vehicle to veer into a telephone pole. Diveley was transported to KSB for minor injuries by Dixon Rural Fire Department. Deputies were assisted at the scene by Dixon Autobody, Illinois Emergency Management Agency, and ComEd. The accident remains under investigation.

Domestic Battery

On March 17, 2019 at 6:41 AM Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies and the Mt Morris Police Department responded to a Domestic Problem at 209 Main St, Leaf River.  After a further investigation Mark T. Miller, age 36 of Leaf River, was located in the 300 block East 3rd St., Leaf River.  Miller was arrested for Domestic Battery and transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

Driving Under The Influence Of Alcohol

On 3/16/19 at 2321 hours Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies were attempting to stop a vehicle near Blackhawk Rd and Colfax St. The vehicle continued to the 200 block of Sumner Street where it finally stopped. Upon further investigation of the traffic stop, Haylee A. O’Sullivan age 27 of Byron, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. O’Sullivan also received citations for no lights when required, expired registration, and improper lane usage. O’Sullivan was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she remained in lieu of bond.

Driving Under The Influence Of Alcohol

On 03-16-19, at approximately 1745 hours, deputies responded to the intersection of Baseline road and Mulford road for a single vehicle crash with injuries.  After completing an investigation, Nicholas Miroballi III age 24 of Belvidere was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.  Miroballi was also cited for improper lane usage, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, and driving on the shoulder.  Due to injures, Miroballi was transported to Rochelle Community Hospital and issued a court date.

Disorderly Conduct

On 03-16-19, at approximately 0245 hours, Deputies were dispatched to 1460 S. Lowell Park Road in rural Polo for the report of a disturbance.  After conducting an investigation, Matthew Bonnell age 29 of Polo was arrested for Disorderly Conduct.  Matthew was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

Warrant Arrest

On 03/14/19 Quavion Scott, age 23 of Freeport, was arrested for two outstanding Ogle County warrants for Failure to Appear and Petition to Revoke. Scott appeared in court and was released on a $1,000 recognizance bond and a $3,000 recognizance bond. Scott will appear in court on 4/29/19 at 9 a.m. for the Failure to Appear and on 4/12/19 at 9 a.m. for the Petition to Revoke.

Warrant Arrest

On 03/15/19 the following people were arrested for Ogle County Outstanding Warrants:
  • Norman Bryant ,64, of Rockford for Failure to Appear, Bryant had a bond of $3867. Bryant's bond was reduced to $2200 after court. Bryant did post bond and was released from the Ogle County Jail. Bryant will have to return for court on 04/29/19 at 9:00 am.
  • Manuel Sago, 29, of Rockford for Failure to Appear, Sago had a bond of $618. Sago bond was reduced to $20. Sago posted the $20 bond and was released from the Ogle County Jail. Sago will return to court on 03/25/19 at 9:00am.

D.U.I

On 3-15-19, at approximately 2000 hours, Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to the 5800 block of N. River Road for the report of a hit and run. Moments later Deputies were also notified of a car versus pole just North of the hit and run. Upon arrival of the car versus pole, Deputies made contact with Melvin Wilton age 21 of Rochelle. After an investigation, Wilton was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Wilton was also cited for Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid and Accident, and Improper Lane Usage. Wilton was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

D.U.I

On 03-15-19 at 2217 hours, Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 11000 block of East IL Rt. 64 for traffic violations. After an investigation, Virginia Dyer, age 70, of Byron was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Dyer was transported to the Ogle County Jail and was held in lieu of bond.

Warrant Arrest

On 03/13/19 Sreenath Kanneganti, age 27 of Middleton, WI., was arrested for an outstanding Ogle County warrant for Failure to Appear. Kanneganti posted the $506 full cash bond and was released with no further court date.

On 03/13/19 at approximately 11 p.m., Deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 12000 block of West Pilgrim Rd. After further investigation Casey Phillips, age 32 of Milledgeville, was placed under arrest for Driving While License Suspended. A passenger in the vehicle, Samantha Arnold, age 32 also of Milledgeville, was placed under arrest for an outstanding Carroll County Warrant. Arnold was also cited for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Phillips and Arnold were transported to the Ogle County Jail where they were held in lieu of bond.

Domestic Battery

On 03/14/19 at 2:39 a.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to the area of Rt. 38 and Grove St. in Creston to assist EMS with an unconscious male subject that was involved in a domestic dispute. After an investigation, Tyler Griffeth, age 18 of St. Charles, was arrested for Domestic Battery. Griffeth was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

  • Sergio Garcia, age 45 of Rochelle, for Failure to appear. Garcia posted the $450 full cash bond and was released with no further court dates.
  • Neopatra Hawkins, age 22 of Dekalb, for Failure to appear. Hawkins posted the $156 full cash bond and was released with no further court dates.

Driving While License Revoked

On 3/13/2019 at approximately 10:49 AM, Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies performed a traffic stop in the 17,000 block of East Creston Road.  After investigation Deputies placed Margaret Curtis, age 62 of Lee, under arrest for Driving While License Revoked.  Curtis was also issued a citation for No Front Registration Plate.  Curtis was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she was held in lieu of bond.

Failure to Register

On 03/12/19 at 9:41 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Zachary J. Popp, age 24 of Mt. Morris, for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender, a class 2 felony, after completing an investigation into the incident. Popp was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held pending an appearance before a judge.

Warrant Arrest

On 03/11/19 the following people were arrested for Ogle County Outstanding Warrants:
  • Nicholas Hartman, 20, of Freeport for Failure to Appear Warrant. Hartman had a bond of $456 and Hartman did post bond. Hartman will not have to return for court and was released from the Ogle County Jail.
  • Lloyd Hernandez, 29, of Sterling for Failure to Appear Warrant. Hernandez had a bond of $892. Hernandez was given a $1,000 recog, released from jail, and will return to court on 03/25/19 at 9:00 am.
  • Pamela Knapik, 53, of Wonderlake for Failure to Appear Warrant. Knapik had a bond of $2511. Knapik was  given a $1,000 recog, released from jail, and will return to court on 03/25/19 at 9:00 am.

No Valid Driver's License

On 3/9/2019 at approximately 9:42 AM Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies performed a traffic stop at the intersection of Flagg Road and Tampam Drive.  After investigation Deputies placed Vincent Tabor, age 42 of Oregon, under arrest for No Valid Driver's License.  Tabor was also issued a citation for No Valid Registration.  Tabor was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

Driving While License Suspended

On 03/10/2019 at approximately 9:36 AM, Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the 8,000 block of East Illinois Route 64 with a motorist assist.  After investigation Deputies placed Lenisha Kearney, age 20 of Streamwood, under arrest for Driving While License Suspended.  Kearney was also issued a citation for Operating an Uninsured Vehicle.  Kearney was transported to  the Ogle County Jail where she was held in lieu of bond.

Driving Under The Influence Of Alcohol

On 03-08-19 at 2218 hours, Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a check welfare in the 9000 block of N. Kishwaukee Rd, to check on a male subject slumped over the wheel of a vehicle parked in the ditch.  After an investigation, Mitchell Semple, age 30, of Byron was arrested for Driving Under The Influence Of Alcohol. Mitchell was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

  • Cory Terrell, age 35, of Dekalb for Failure to Appear. Terrell has a bond of $1554 and will go to court on 03/08/19 at 1:00 pm. Terrell will remain in the Ogle County Jail.

Warrant Arrest

On 03/05/19 Hope Thomes, age 52 of Forreston, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County Warrant for Driving 15-20 MPH Over the Limit. Thomes posted the $2,000/10% bond and will appear in court on 03/29/19 at 9 a.m.

Possession of a Controlled Substance

On 3/05/2019 at approximately 3:10 p.m., Ogle County Deputies, along with the Forreston Police dept and the Forreston EMS, responded to a disturbance at 8964 N. Adeline Road.  After an investigation, Mark McGinn, age 33 of La Porte Indiana, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.  McGinn was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

Driving While License Suspended

On 03/05/19 at approximately 10:47 p.m., Deputies initiated a traffic stop on Illinois Rt. 26 near the intersection of Prairie Dell Rd. After further investigation Raheem Ashley, age 19 of Freeport, was placed under arrest for Driving While License Suspended. Ashley was also cited for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Ashley was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

Warrant Arrest

On 03/06/19 Diana Staggs, age 50, of Mt. Morris was arrested for Failure to Appear. Staggs had a bond of $366 and Staggs was able to post the $366 bond. Staggs was released from the Ogle County Jail.

Driving While License Suspended

On 03-06-19 at approximately 2030 hours, Ogle County Sheriff Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Illinois Rt. 38 and Linscott road. Upon further investigation Santanna Cox, age 31 of Dixon, was arrested for Driving While License Suspended. Cox was also cited for speeding and taken to the Ogle County Jail where she was held in lieu of bond.

Warrant Arrest

On 03/04/19 John B. Wells, age 33 of Mt. Morris, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for D.U.I Court Sanctions. Wells has no bond and will appear in court on 03/05/19 at 1 p.m.

Two Vehicle Accident with Injuries

On 03/05/2019 at approximately 7:43 AM, Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to the intersection of IL Route 72 and IL Route 26 reference to a two vehicle accident with three injuries.  After investigation, Deputies learned a 2002 Hyundai driven by 34 year old Jason Marine of Rockford, was traveling southbound on IL Route 26 when a 2015 Jeep driven by 20 year old Paige Gallentine of Shannon, was stopped at the IL Route 72 stop sign intersection and pulled out in front of the Hyundai causing the accident.  Marine and Gallentine were transported to Freeport Memorial Hospital by EMS for minor injuries.  Chandra Meier, age 30 of Milledgeville was a passenger in the Hyundai and sustained more serious injuries but weren't life threatening.  Meier was transported to Freeport Memorial Hospital by EMS.  Gallentine was issued citations for Failure to Yield at Stop Intersection and a citation for Expired Registration.  Marine was later arrested at the hospital by Freeport PD for a Stephenson County Warrant.  Forreston EMS, Shannon EMS, and Freeport Rural EMS assisted with the accident.

Driving While License Revoked

On 3/4/2019 at approximately 11:40 AM Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies performed a traffic stop in the 6000 block of South Illinois Route 26.  After investigation, Deputies placed John Wells, age 33 of Mt Morris, under arrest for Driving While License Revoked.  Wells was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

Warrant Arrest

On 03/02/19 Marice D. Brown, age 45, of Kewanee was arrested by Ogle County Sheriff at 3:56pm on House road and Ridge road. Brown was arrested for two out of county warrants. Brown Has a Failure to Appear Warrant in Stark Co and in Henry Co. Brown currently has no charges for Ogle County .

One Vehicle Accident

On 3/2/19 at 1708 hours Ogle County Deputies responded to the 3000 block of S Daysville Rd reference a crash. During the course of the investigation it was learned that William E Eckles of Mt. Morris age 36, was southbound on Daysville Rd when he left the roadway and crashed. Eckles was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and driving while license revoked. Eckles was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he remained in lieu of bond.

Warrant Arrest

On 02/28/19 Christopher Shank, age 52 of Winnebago, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for Failure to Appear. Shank posted the $175 full cash bond and was released with no further court dates.

DUI

On 02/28/19 at 11:15 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to a one vehicle crash in the 8800 block of N. Main St. in Leaf River. After an investigation, it was determined that Broc Krigbaum, age 22 of Leaf River, had driven his vehicle into the ditch. Krigbaum was arrested for Driving While Under the Influence of Alcohol. Krigbaum was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

Warrant Arrests

On 02/27/19 the following people were arrested on outstanding Ogle County Warrants:
  • Daeshawn Eubanks, age 19 of Aurora, for Resisting a Peace Officer. Eubanks posted the $3,000/10% bond and will appear in court on 03/11/19 at 1 p.m.
  • Crysta Suttles-King, age 26 of Rochelle, for Failure to Appear. Suttles-King posted the $255 full cash bond and was released with no further court dates.

DUI Arrest

On 02/27/19 at 11:55 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop at Mulford and Base Line roads.  After a short investigation Deputies arrested Kristine Wagner, age 49 of Rockford for DUI.  Wagner also received citations for Failure to Signal, Improper Lane Use, No Seat Belt, and Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign.  Wagner was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

On 02/28/19 Gerardo Vidals, age 45, of Rochelle was arrested for Operate Uninsured Vehicle. Vidals had a bond of $2,000/10% and will go to court on 02/28/19 at 1:00pm. Vidals remains in the Ogle County Jail.

On 02/25/19 the following were arrested for Ogle County Outstanding Warrants:
  • Rhonda Cermak, age 40, of Rockford for Failure to Appear. Cermak has a bond of $747 and will go to court on 02/26/19 at 1:00pm. Cermak will remain in the Ogle County Jail.
  • Jerry Heinze, age 47, of Rockford for Failure to Appear. Heinze had a bond of $3453. Heinze recieved a recog bond of $1000 and will return to court on 03/25/19 at 9:00am.

Aggravated D.U.I.

On 02/25/19, at approximately 1730 hours, Ogle County Deputies along with Lynn Scott Rock EMS responded to the 17000 block of E Big Mound Road for the report of a single vehicle crash.  Where the occupant was unresponsive but breathing. After conducting a investigation, David A Miller age 45 of Lindenwood was arrested for Aggravated D.U.I. and Aggravated Driving While License Revoked. Miller was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond. Miller was also cited for Improper Lane Usage, Driving on the Shoulder, Illegal Transportation of Alcohol, and Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.

Driving While License Revoked

On 02/25/19, at approximately 1928 hours, Ogle County Deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 17000 block of West Illinois Rt. 64. After further investigation Terry Hermecz, age 29, of Mt. Carroll was placed under arrest for Driving While License Revoked. Hermecz was also cited for operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle. Hermecz was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

Train Derailment

On 02/23/19 at 9:57pm Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies, along with the Oregon Fire and Police Departments responded to a report of a train derailment at the Pines Road rail crossing just west of Devil's Backbone Rd. This railway is owned by Illinois Railway and is operated by Omni Track. 99 empty rail cars, with no locomotive attached were being stored on the rail line between Gale Road and Oregon Trail Road. For an unknown reason the rail cars began to roll southeast towards Pines Rd where the unaccompanied cars struck a derailing device causing 17 of the 99 empty cars on the line to derail. During the derailment one of the rail cars struck and damaged a Com Ed utility pole. Several of the cars came to a rest on Pines Road and in the north ditch area of the road.

No one was injured in the incident and Pines road is expected to be closed for most of the day on 02/24/19 while crews work to remove the rail cars from the scene.

One Vehicle Roll Over

ON February 20, 2019 AT 7:55AM THE OGLE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE, MONROE CENTER FIRE DEPARTMENT AND THE LINSCOTT ROCK AMBULANCE RESPONDED TO A ONE VEHICLE ROLL OVER ACCIDENT WITH INJURIES AT MM109 I39 SOUTHBOUND. A GREEN TOYOTA AVALON WAS SOUTHBOUND ON I39 WHEN THE VEHICLE LOST CONTROL DUE TO THE SNOW COVERED ROADWAY. THE VEHICLE LEFT THE WEST SIDE OF THE ROADWAY STRIKING A SNOWBANK AND ROLLING OVER IN THE DITCH. THE VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP ON ALL FOUR WHEELS. THE DRIVER FARIS ALYAMI, AGE 22, OF ROCKFORD REFUSED MEDICAL TREATMENT. PASSENGER ARWA AOABYAH, AGE 22, OF ROCKFORD WAS TRANPSPORTED TO ST. ANTHONY’S HOSPITAL IN ROCKFORD BY LINSCOTT ROCK AMBULANCE WITH A MINOR WRIST INJURY. NO CITATIONS ISSUED.

On 02/19/19 Austin Reeverts, age 26 of Rockford, was arrested for an outstanding Ogle County warrant for Failure to appear. Reeverts has a bond of $3,625  full cash and will appear in court on 02/22/19 at 9 a.m.

Driving While Under the Influence of Alcohol

On 02/19/19 at approximately 9:50 p.m., Deputies responded to a vehicle in the 3000 block of South Illinois Rt. 2 which had driven onto the frozen Rock River. After further investigation Christopher Rowe,  age 26 of Rockford, was placed under arrest for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Reckless Driving, and Obstructing a Peace Officer. Rowe was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

On 2/19/2019 Ogle County Deputies responded to 4914 west Oregon Trail road in reference to a domestic problem.  After an investigation, James A Hilliard, age 44 of Mt Morris, was arrested for Disorderly Conduct and Interference With the Reporting Of Domestic Violence.  Hilliard was transported to the Ogle County jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

One Vehicle Accident

On 02-16-19 at approximately 9:00 PM, Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies and Rochelle EMS responded to a car in the ditch on Rolling Green Lane near Flagg Road in rural Rochelle which was occupied by an unresponsive female driver.  Alice Sanders, age 58 of Rochelle, was transported to Rochelle Community Hospital where she was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.  Alice was issued an I-bond and a return court date due to Medical treatment.

On 02/16/18  Glory Johnson,42, was arrested for a Failure to Appear warrant. Johnson has a bond of $389 and will go to court on 02/19/19 at 1:00pm.

Two Vehicle Accident

On 02-12-19, at approximately 4:20 p.m., Deputies along with the Rochelle Police Department, Illinois State Police, Rochelle Fire/EMS, and Creston Fire/EMS responded to the area of IL Route 38 and Mulford Road for a two vehicle head on collision.  After further investigation it was discovered that a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Ariadna Calderon, age 18 of Rochelle, had lost control while traveling eastbound and entered into oncoming traffic, colliding with a Nissan Rogue.  The Nissan was occupied by Ignacio Constellanos (34), Rosa Contreras-Garcia (37), and Tania Contreras-Garcia (30), all from Rochelle.  All four subjects were transported to Rochelle Community Hospital by Rochelle EMS to be evaluated for injuries.  Calderon received citations for failure to reduce speed and improper lane usage.

One Vehicle Accident

On 02/13/2019 at 9:30 AM, Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies, along with the Forreston Fire Department, Forreston EMS, Freeport Rural EMS, and the Forreston Police Department were dispatched to the 12000 block of North Illinois Route 26 in reference to a single vehicle roll over accident.  After an investigation it was learned that the vehicle was southbound and had lost control, crossed the northbound lane where it struck the snow bank.  The vehicle then overturned where it came to rest.  The driver of the vehicle, Timothy A Robbins, age 63 of Lanark and his wife Ann Marie Robbins, age 56 of Lanark were transported to FHN for non life threatening injuries.  Albers towing contacted to remove the vehicle from the location.

Christopher Jamieson, age 39, of Oregon for Parole Violation. Jamieson had a bond of $3,000/10%. Jamieson did post the bond of $3,000/10%. Jamieson will return to court on 03/01/19 at 9:00am. 

Dionne Bakalik, age 43, of  Mount Morris for Failure to Appear. Bakalik had a bond of $259.84. Bakalik did post the bond of $259.84 and was released from the Ogle County Jail. Bakalik does not have to return to court.

On 02/04/2019 at approximately 9:44 AM Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies performed a traffic stop in the 5600 block of South Chana Road.  After investigation, Deputies placed Teresa Ortiz, age 48 of Ashton, under arrest for Driving While License Suspended.  Ortiz was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she was held in lieu of bond.

Disorderly Conduct

On 02-03-19 at approximately 0023 hours Deputies responded to a disturbance in the Mt. Morris Estates Trailer Park. After further investigation Scott Shirley, age 30 of Mt. Morris was placed under arrest for Disorderly Conduct. Shirley was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

Domestic Dispute

On 02/02/19 at approximately 3:45pm, Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies responded to 5773 E. Brick road in Oregon. This was in response to a report of a domestic dispute occurring at the location. After an investigation, DC Hitchcock, age 31, of Oregon was arrested for Affravated Battery to a senior citizen and domestic battery. Hitchcock was transported to the Ogle County Corrections center where he is currently being held in lieu of bond.

On 01/31/19 the following people were arrested for outstanding Ogle County warrants:
  • Andre Peat, age 18 of Sterling, for Failure to Appear. Peat has a full cash bond of $1,941 and will appear in court on 02/01/19 at 1 p.m.

Driving While License Revoked

On 01-27-19 at 3:42 AM, Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to I-39 at Mile Marker 112 for a vehicle in the ditch.  After a short investigation, John L. Gray, age 79, of Milwaukee was arrested for Driving on a Revoked License.  Gray was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

One Vehicle Accident

On 1/26/19 at 4:24 a.m., Ogle County Sheriff's deputies investigated a one vehicle roll over accident that occurred on I-39  at Mile Marker 98. After an investigation deputies determined that Joshua R. Lampe, age 25 of Byron, was driving southbound when he lost control of his vehicle due to icy road conditions. The Kia Forte that Lampe was driving slid into the median where it struck a guardrail and overturned prior to coming to rest. Lampe sustained several non life threatening injuries in the roll over and was transported to the Rochelle Hospital by the Rochelle Ambulance. Deputies were also assisted at the scene by the Rochelle Police. There were no citations issued in the incident.

Two Vehicle Accident with Injuries

On 01/25/2019 at approximately 3:32 PM, Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies along with Forreston Fire and EMS responded to the intersection of IL Route 26 and Montague Road in reference to a two vehicle accident with injuries.  After investigation Deputies learned a 2012 Chevy Malibu driven by Sarah Kraai, age 26 of Freeport was traveling southbound on IL Route 26 approaching the Montague Road intersection.  A 2012 Infiniti SUV driven by Randy Zielinski, age 66 of Chicago, was traveling westbound on Montague Road approaching the IL Route 26 intersection when he attempted to stop at the stop sign, but was unable to and slid into the intersection on the snow covered road.  Kraal vehicle then struck Zielinski's vehicle on the passenger side causing heavy damage to both vehicles before they ended up a short distance of off the southwest side of the roadway.  Zielinski, Kraai, and a 3 year old child in Kraai's vehicle were all transported to Freeport Memorial Hospital for minor injuries.  Zielinski was later issued a citation for Failure to Yield the Right Away at an intersection and Kraai was issued a citation  for No Valid License (expired less than a year).  Freeport Rural EMS and Stephenson County Sheriff's Department helped assist with the accident.

On 01/22/2019 at approximately 12:44 PM Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies along with Oregon EMS and Fire responded to the 1000 block of East Illinois Route 64 in reference  to a two vehicle accident with injuries.  After investigation, Deputies learned a white Ford van driven by Amanda Somers, age 31 of Rock Island was traveling eastbound when Somers began to lose control of the vehicle on the slightly slush covered road.  Somers vehicle then went into the westbound lane before striking a Dodge Grand Caravan head on, which was traveling westbound and driven by John Heng, age 84 of Oregon.  Heng and his passenger, Cordelia Heng age 82 of Oregon, were transported to KSB Hospital by Oregon EMS for minor injuries.  Somers was issued a citation for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident

Driving While License Suspended

On 1/25/19 at approximately 7:22 p.m., Deputies located a vehicle in the ditch in the 11600 block of North Illinois Rt 2. After further investigation Christopher Sanchez, age 27 of Rockford, was placed under arrest for Driving While License Suspended. Sanchez was also cited for Driving Too Fast For Conditions. Sanchez was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

On 01/24/19 the following people were arrested on outstanding Ogle County Warrants:
  • John Roberts, age 42 of Rockford, for Driving While License Suspended. Roberts has a bond of $10,000/10% and remains at the Ogle County Jail. Roberts will appear in court on 01/24/19 at 1 p.m.
  • Tadd Schaible, age 30 of Rockford, for Contempt of Court. Schaible has a bond of $1,500 and remains at the Ogle County Jail. Schaible will appear in court on 01/24/19 at 1 p.m.
  • Kaleb Harrolle, age 19 of Freeport, for Failure to Appear. Harrolle has a bond of $1,117 and remains at the Ogle County Jail. Harrolle will appear in court on 01/24/19 at 1 p.m.
  • Candace Collins, age 26 of Belvidere, for Failure to Appear. Collins has a bond of $1,404 and remains at the Ogle County Jail. Collins will appear in court on 01/24/19 at 1 p.m.
  • Joseph Lewis, age 40 of Oregon, for Domestic Battery. Lewis has a bond of $1,000 and remains at the Ogle County Jail. Lewis will appear in court on 01/24/19 at 1 p.m.

Two Vehicle Accident

On 01/22/19 at approximately 4:59 p.m., Deputies responded to a two vehicle accident in the 6000 block of North Illinois Rt 2.  A northbound vehicle being driven by Amy Orsted, age 29 of Mt. Morris, lost control on the snow covered roadway.  Orsted's vehicle crossed into the oncoming lane of travel and struck a southbound vehicle being driven by Matthew Hey, age 40 of Dixon.  Orsted was issued citations for Driving Too Fast for Conditions and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle.

Driving While License Suspended

On 01-20-19 at 1709 hours Ogle County Deputies conducted a traffic stop at River Rd and IL Rte 64 for a vehicle with improper registration. During the course of the traffic stop it was learned that the driver, Carlos A Tobar age 32 of Highland Park, had a suspended driver's license and subsequently was taken into custody. Tobar was issued citations for improper use of registration, no valid registration, and driving while license suspended. Tobar was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he remained in lieu of bond.

Driving While License Suspended

On 01-21-19 at approximately 0015 hours Ogle County Sheriffs Deputies conducted a motorist assist on IL Rt 64 near Meriden Rd. Upon further investigation registered owner and driver of the vehicle Michael Sharpe age 45, of Chicago IL was placed under arrest for Driving While License Suspended. Sharpe was also cited for no proof of insurance. Sharpe was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in Lieu of bond.

One Vehicle Accident

On 01/21/2019 at approximately 6:21 AM, Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to the 10,000 block of North Illinois Route 2 in reference to a vehicle in the ditch.  After investigation, Deputies placed Darrius Garcia, age 29 of Dixon under arrest for Driving Under the Influence of Drugs and Alcohol.  Garcia was also issued a citation for Improper Lane Usage and later released on an I-bond.

On 01/17/19 the following people were arrested on outstanding Ogle County Warrants:
  • Kyle Smith, age 27 of Byron, for Leaving the Scene. Smith posted the $3,000/10% bond and was released from the Ogle County Jail with a court date of 02/08/19 at 9 a.m.
  • Jeffrey Swanson, age 48 of Billings, Montana, for Theft. Swanson has a $25,000/10% bond and will appear in court on 01/18/19 at 1 p.m.

On 01/18/19 the following people were arrested on outstanding Ogle County Warrants:
  • Christopher Jamieson, age 38 of Oregon, for Failure to Appear. Jamieson has a bond of $3,506 and remains at the Ogle County Jail. Jamieson will appear in court on 01/21/19 at 1 p.m.
  • Shannon Day, age 25 of Sterling, for Failure to Appear. Day has a bond of $650 and remains at the Ogle County Jail. Day will appear in court on 01/21/19 at 1 p.m.

No Valid Driver's License

On 01/16/19 at 10:17 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 5000 block of S. IL Rt. 251 for a traffic violation. After an investigation, Armando Zavaleta, age 53, of Rockford was arrested for Driving with No Valid Driver's License. Zavaleta was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

Single Vehicle Crash

On 01/16/19 at 0015 hours Ogle County Sheriff Deputies come upon a single vehicle crash at Rt 2 and Mud Creek Rd. Upon investigating the crash, Deputies determined Kendall Pelt age 46 of Mt Morris, failed to reduce speed to avoid and accident and struck the guardrail on Rt 2 east of Mud Creek Rd. Pelt was arrested for failure to reduce speed, DUI, no valid license, and operating uninsured motor vehicle. Pelt was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he remained in lieu of bond.

On 01/16/19 Daniel Diehl, age 22 of Polo, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County Warrant for Failure to Appear. Diehl has a bond of $451 and remains at the Ogle County Jail. Diehl will appear in court on 01/16/19 at 1 p.m.

Driving While License Suspended

On 01/14/19 at 1907 hrs Ogle County Sheriffs Deputies were checking a vehicle at 105 S Rural Rd in Stillman Valley. Upon further investigation it was determined that the registered owner, Darrin K Akers age 48 of Rockford, had driven into Stillman Valley on a suspended driver’s license. Darrin was arrested for driving while license suspended and transported to the Ogle County Jail where he remained in lieu of bond.

One Vehicle Accident

On 01/15/19 at approximately 11:00 am , Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the 10,000 block of N. Illinois Rte. 2 for a one vehicle accident with injuries. After an investigation it was determined that the 2011 Chevrolet Equionx driven by Kathleen M. Garcia, age 52, of Oregon was northbound.  Garcia drifted across the roadway, for unknown reasons at this time, entered the ditch on the west side of the roadway and struck a tree. No other vehicles were involved in the accident and Garcia was the sole occupant of hers. Garcia was extricated from the vehicle by Byron Fire and Ambulance and transported to Swedish American Hospital for injuries sustained. Garcia was issued a civil citation for possession of cannabis under 10 gms.

Two Vehicle Accident

On 01-11-19, at approximately 0140 hours, Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a two vehicle accident on I-39 at mile marker 108. Upon arrival, a red Honda Sedan was located in the median facing southbound with heavy front end damage as well as a semi truck and trailer with rear trailer damage located on the east shoulder of the northbound lane.  After conducting an investigation, it was discovered the Honda, driven by Steven Nosko age 56 of Byron, struck the trailer while traveling northbound.  The semi truck, driven by Jimmy Johnson age 51 of Chicago, was experiencing power failure disabling the trailer lights and attempted to pull off of the roadway just prior to the collision.  Both vehicles were towed from the scene by Maggio’s Towing. Nosko was transported to Swedish American Hospital for minor injuries.

  • Joseph Stafford, age 55 of Aurora, for Escape. Stafford has a bond of $50,000 /10% and remains at the Ogle County Jail. Stafford will appear in court on 01/16/19 at 1 p.m.

  • Antwon Woodson, age 26 of Polo, for Failure to Appear. Woodson has a bond of $412 and remains at the Ogle County Jail. Woodson will appear in court on 01/14/19 at 1 p.m.
  • James Jaskiewicz, age 49 of Mt. Morris, for Failure to Appear. Jaskiewicz was released on a recognizance bond and will appear in court on 01/28/19 at 9 a.m.

On 01-12-19 at 7:34 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies along with Rochelle EMS/ Hillcrest First Responders responded to the area of Rt. 251 at Powers Rd. for a three vehicle crash with unknown injuries. After an investigation, it was determined a 17 year old male juvenile was attempting to turn his Nissan truck west onto Powers Rd. from Rt. 251. The truck struck a Chevrolet passenger car traveling southbound on Rt. 251. After being struck, the Chevrolet was pushed into a Ford pickup truck that was waiting at the stop sign on Powers Rd. The driver of the Chevrolet was transported by EMS to Rochelle Community Hospital for non life threatening injuries.

Driving While License Suspended

On 01/13/19 at approximately 12:53 AM Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies investigated a vehicle found located in the ditch near the intersection of Henry Road and Peek Home Road.  After further investigation Nathan Linboom, age 35 of Polo, was placed under arrest for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.  Linboom was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

One Vehicle Accident

On 01/13/19 at approximately 11:38 AM Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies and the Ashton Fire Department responded to a single vehicle accident with injuries on Chana Road 1/2 mile south of Flagg Road in rural Ashton.  A 2001 Ford passenger car driven by Kaitlin Bell, 18, of Ashton was driving northbound on Chana Road when the vehicle slid off the east side of the roadway.  The Ford went into the ditch and struck several trees near a creek.  Bell was transported to Rochelle Community Hospital for treatment of minor injuries by the Ashton Ambulance.  Accident remains under investigation.

Vehicle vs. Bicyclist

On 01/11/2019 at approximately 5:59 AM Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a vehicle vs. bicyclist with an injury.  After investigation, Deputies learned a Chevy Equinox driven by Jack Schutten, age 87 of Dixon, was traveling northbound in the 1,000 block of South Daysville Road.  John Barnhart, age 54 of Oregon, was also traveling northbound on Daysville Road with working flashing front and rear lights on his bicycle.  Barnhart was also wearing a reflective vest.  Schutten then struck the rear of Barnhart's bicycle causing him to be thrown off.  Barnhart was transported to Mercy Health Hospital by Oregon EMS for minor injuries.  Schutten was issued a citation for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident

Fatal Two Vehicle Accident

On 01/11/19 at approximately 6:30 AM Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies and the Franklin Grove Fire Department responded to a 2 vehicle accident with injuries on Lowden Road about 1/4 mile south of Stone Barn Road in rural Franklin Grove.  A white Mazda passenger car driven by Michael Chavera, 49, of Dixon was driving northbound on Lowden Road and a red Mazda passenger car driven by Frank Castaldo, 28 of Byron was driving southbound.  Both vehicles collided nearly head-on, rolled over at least once and came to a rest in the east ditch of the roadway.  Chavera was pronounced dead at the scene by the Ogle county Coroner.  Castaldo sustained only minor injuries and declined medical attention.  Accident remains under investigation.

One Vehicle Accident

On 01/12/2019 at approximately 8:21 AM, Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a single vehicle accident with an injury in the 1,000 Block of East Il Route 64.  After investigation Deputies learned Rachel Obrien, age 22 of Rochelle was traveling eastbound on Il Route 64 in a 2009 Hyundai Accent.  Obrien then lost control on the snow covered road and traveled into the north side ditch where she struck an embankment.  Obrien was transported to Rochelle Community Hospital for minor injuries.

On 01/11/18 Melissa Alumbaugh, age 29 of Sterling, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County Warrant for Failure to Appear. Alumbaugh was released on a $1,000 recognizance bond and will appear in court on 02/25/19 at 9 a.m.

One Vehicle Accident

On 01/10/19 at approximately 12:30 pm, Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the area of 1997 W. Mud Creek Road for a one vehicle accident. The vehicle was driven by Robert E. Friemuth, age 60, of Oregon, was located approximately 1/2 mile off of the roadway in a wooded area. Friemuth was taken to OSF St. Anthony Hospital by Life Line helicopter for injuries sustained in the accident/ It is believed that Friemuth had an unknown medical issue that caused the accident. The vehicle was removed by Maggio's towing of Rockford.

On 1-10-19, Lashawn Walton, age 34 of Rockford, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for Failure to Appear. Walton posted the $733.00 Full Cash Bond and was released with no further court dates.

Criminal Sexual Assault

On 1/7/19 at approx. 3:00 P.M., Ogle County Sheriff's Detectives arrested Ross A. Ellis, age 28 of Stillman Valley, for two counts of Criminal Sexual Assault, Class 1 Felonies. The arrest stems from an investigation which began on 1/5/19 where Ellis is alleged to have had sexual contact with two minors in the Stillman Valley area. Ellis was transported to the Ogle County and held without bond. On 1/8/19 Ellis appeared in Ogle County Court where he received a $10,000 recognizance bond.

On 1-7-19 Kyle Sweet, age 28 of Dixon, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for Possession of Cannabis. Sweet remains in the Ogle County Jail with a bond of $3,000/10% and will appear in court on 1-8-19 at 1 p.m.

On 1-8-19, Cody Campbell, age 33 of Oregon, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for Failure to Appear. Campbell posted the $437.00 Full Cash Bond and was released with no further court dates.

Motorcycle Accident

ON January 6, 2019 AT 1:44PM HOURS THE OGLE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE, BYRON POLICE DEPARTMENT, BYRON FIRE DEPARTMENT, AND THE BYRON AMBULANCE RESPONDED TO A MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT WITH INJURIES IN THE 7,000 BLOCK N. RIVER ROAD. A BLACK HARLEY DAVIDSON MOTORCYCLE DRIVEN BY ERNEST B. MILLER AGE 30 OF MT MORRIS WAS SOUTHBOUND ON RIVER ROAD ALONG WITH A RED KAWASAKI NINJA  MOTORCYCLE DRIVEN BY JAMES D EMERY, AGE 35, OF LEAF RIVER. BOTH MOTORCYCLES THEN ATTEMPTED TO PASS A CAR TRAVELLING SOUTHBOUND. THE HARLEY DAVIDSON LOST CONTROL CROSSING OVER THE ROADWAY AND ENTERED THE WEST SIDE DITCH ROLLING OVER. THE RIDER ERNEST B. MILLER WAS TRANSPORTED TO ROCKFORD MEMORIAL HOSPITAL BY THE BYRON AMBULANCE WITH MULTIPLE INJURIES. THE ACCIDENT REMAINS UNDER INVESTIGATION.

  • Dewayne Harbach, age 67, of Rockford for Failure to Appear. Harbach has a bond of $823.79. Harbach will go to court on 01/07/19 at 1:00 pm. Harbach remains in the Ogle County Jail.
  • Taunya Hollis-Jared, age 47, of Rockford for Failure to Appear. Hollis-Jarred has a bond of $1,329. Hollis-Jared will go to court on 01/07/19 at 1:00pm. Hollis-Jared remains in the Ogle County Jail.
  • Edward Hutchinson, age 47, of Rockford for Failure to Appear. Hutchinson has a bond of $531. Hutchinson will go to court on 01/07/19 at 1:00pm. Hutchinson remains in the Ogle County Jail.
  • Amber Anders, age 26, of Rochelle, for Drug Court Sanctions. Anders has a bond of $25,000/10%. Anders will go to court on 01/07/19 at 1:00pm. Anders remains in the Ogle County jail.

On 01/05/19 Timothy McCoullough, age 25, of Dixon was arrested for Failure to Appear. McCoullough has a bond of $842. McCoullough will see the Judge on 01/07/19 at 1:00pm and will remain in the Ogle County Jail.

Disorderly Conduct

On 01-05-19, at approximately 0115 hours, deputies responded to 1105 Santa Fe Ave in Davis Junction for the report of a domestic disturbance. After a short investigation, Jessica Winn age 31 was arrested for disorderly conduct. Winn was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she was held in lieu of bond.

No Valid Driver's License

On 1/3/2019 at approximately 8:25 AM Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies performed a traffic stop in the 8000 block of East Wildwood Road.  After investigation, Deputies placed Gonzalo Munoz-Garcia under arrest for No Valid Driver's License.  Munoz-Garcia was also issued citations for Improper Display of Registration and Operating an Uninsured Vehicle.  Munoz-Garcia was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

D.U.I Drugs

On 1-1-19 at 139 deputies conducted a traffic stop at Washington and 1st streets in Oregon.  After a short investigation deputies arrested Amy Orsred 29 of Oregon for DUI drugs and felony possession of a controlled substance. Amy was transported to the ogle county jail and held in Lieu of bond.  Deputies were assisted by Oregon Police.

Warrant Arrest

On 12/31/18 the follwoing were arrested for Ogle County Outstanding Warrants:
  • Eugene Dzwierzynski, age 58, of Oregon for Violating Order of Protection. Dzwierzynski had a bond of $5,000 /10%. Dzwierzynski was able to post his bond of $5,000/ 10%. Dzwierzynski was released from the Ogle County jail and will return to court on 01/03/19 at 1:00pm.
  • Jose L. Elias-Hernandez, age 22, of Madison, Wi for Driving while License Suspended. Elias-Hernandez has a bond of $3,000/10%. Elias-Hernandez was not able to post his bond. Elias-Hernandez will remain in the Ogle County Jail and will return to court on 01/04/19 at 10:00am.

Driving While License Suspended

On 12-29-18 at approximately 9:30 p.m. Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies conducted a traffic stop on I-88 at I-39, after a short investigation Juan M. Peres-Rodarte, age 48 of Romeoville, was arrested for Driving While License Suspended. Peres-Rodarte was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

One Vehicle Roll Over Accident

On 12/29/2018 at approximately 12:52 PM, Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to the 14,700 block of Robin Road in reference to a roll over accident with injuries.  After investigation Deputies learned James Babu, age 42 of Ridott, was traveling westbound in the 14,700 block of Robin Road in his 2007 Toyota van.   Babu then lost control on the completely ice covered gravel road and began to spin out of control.  The vehicle exited off of the south side of the roadway before overturning at least once and landing upside down.  Two passengers in the vehicle, Jennifer Oliva-Nyatangi age 43 and Hadassah Nyatangi age 2, both of Ridott were transported to KSB Hospital by Polo EMS for minor injuries.  Polo Fire and Polo Police Department also helped assist with the call.

  • On 12-27-18 Parth Thakkar, age 23 of Hampshire, IL, was arrested for an outstanding Ogle County Warrant for Speeding. Thakkar remains in the Ogle County Jail and will appear in court on 12-27-18 at 1 p.m.
  • On 12-27-18 Milo Gibson, age 28 of Belvidere, IL, was arrested for an outstanding Ogle County Warrant for Failure To Appear. Gibson remains in the Ogle County Jail and will appear in court on 12-27-18 at 1 p.m.
  • On 12-27-18 Caleb Chastain age 20 of Stillman Valley, IL, was arrested for an outstanding Ogle County Warrant for Burglary and Possession of Stolen Motor Vehicle. Chastain remains in the Ogle County Jail and will appear in court on 12-27-18 at 1 p.m.

Driving While License Suspended

On 12-25-18 at 6:05 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies conducted a traffic stop on I-88 Eastbound at Mile Marker 78 for an equipment violation. After an investigation, Niesha Whitiker, age 29 of Iowa, was arrested for Driving While License Suspended. Whitiker was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she was held in lieu of bond.

Driving While License Suspended

On 12/24/2018 at approximately 9:53 AM, Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies performed a traffic stop in the 1,000 block of South Freeport Rd.  After investigation Deputies placed Holly Gaul, age 40 of Loves Park, under arrest for Driving While License Revoked.  Ryan Martinez, age 39 of Sterling, was a passenger in the vehicle and was also placed under arrest for a FTA Lee County Warrant and a FTA Rockford warrant.  Gaul was additionally issued a citation for operating an uninsured vehicle.  Gaul and Martinez were transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

Domestic Disturbance

On 12/23/18 Ogle County Deputies responded to 8449 Meadowlark Ln in rural Stillman Valley in regards to a domestic disturbance. After an investigation Billy Byvick of Stillman Valley was arrested for domestic battery and an outstanding Lee county warrant. She was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she will be held until she can be brought before a judge. Also arrested at this location was Christopher Byvick of Stillman Valley for violation of an order of protection. Christopher was also transported to the Ogle County Jail and will be held until he can be brought before a judge.  Illinois State Police assisted in the investigation.

On 12-21-18, at approximately 6:15 pm, Deputies along with Byron Fire and EMS responded to the 6000 block of N Deer Path Lane in rural Byron for the report of a one vehicle crash. Upon completing and investigation, Melissa Speers age 33 of Mount Morris was traveling northbound on Deer Path Lane when she drove off of the roadway striking a parked pickup truck before then striking a tree and coming to rest.  Speers was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence, Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid and Accident, Improper lane Usage, and Driving on the Shoulder. Speers was issued an I-Bond with a return court date of 1-16-19 and transported to Rockford Memorial Hospital to be treated for minor injuries. 

Warrant Arrest

On 12/20/18 Karen Dille, age 44 of Peru, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County Warrant. Dille had a bond of $521 full cash. Dille posted the bond and was released with no further court date.

Two Vehicle Accident Roll Over

ON December 21, 2018 AT 6:35AM THE OGLE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE, ROCHELLE FIRE DEPARTMENT, AND THE ROCHELLE AMBULANCE RESPONDED TO A TWO VEHICLE ROLL OVER ACCIDENT ON I 39 MM 99 NORTHBOUND. A BLACK HYUNDAI SANTA FE WAS NORTHBOUND ON I 39 ATTEMPTING TO PASS A SEMI TRACTOR TRAILER THAT WAS ALSO NORTHBOUND. THE HYUNDAI LOST CONTROL STRUCK THE TRAILER CAUSING THE HYUNDAI TO CROSS OVER TO THE SOUTHBOUND SIDE AND ROLLING OVER INTO THE WEST SIDE DITCH COMING TO A STOP ON ITS ROOF. THE DRIVER OF THE HYUNDAI CONNER M. RYLATT AGE 24 OF BOULDER COLORADO REFUSED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE DRIVER OF THE SEMI TRACTO TRAILER COMBINATION TROY L. HOOKS AGE 57 OF PLAINFIELD WISCONSIN WAS UNINJURED. RYLATT WAS ISSUED A CITATION FOR FAILURE TO REDUCE SPEED TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT.

 

Warrant Arrest

On 12-22-18 Rodney Martin, age 22 of Rockford was arrested for an outstanding warrant for Speeding. Martin did not post the $10,000 10% bond and remains in the Ogle County Jail.  Martin will appear in court on 12-24-18 at 1:00 pm.

Driving While Under the Influence of Alcohol

On 12/20/18 at 8:54 p.m., Ogle County Deputies attempted to stop a vehicle westbound in the 11000 block of East IL. Rte. 72. The vehicle did not come to a stop until the 9000 block of East IL. Rte. 72. Upon further investigation, the driver, Tracie L. Miller, age 41 of Byron, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence, Improper Lane Usage, Failure to Yield to a Police Vehicle, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Miller was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she was held in lieu of bond.

Warrant Arrest

On 12-18-18, Remal Walker, age 28 of Rockford, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County Warrant for Failure To Appear. Walker appeared in court and was given a bond of $1338 Full cash.  Walker was released after posting bond and will reappear in court on 12-19-18 at 1:00 p.m.

Warrant Arrest

On 12-16-18 Eduardo Diaz, age 37 of Mt. Morris, was arrested for an outstanding Ogle County warrant for Driving While License Suspended. Diaz has a $5,000/10% bond for the warrant. Diaz was additionally arrested for Driving While License Revoked and has a bond of $1,500/10% bond. Diaz was unable to post both bonds and will appear in court on 12-17-18 at 9 a.m.

Two Vehicle Accident

On 12-16-18 at approximately 6:26 p.m., Ogle County Deputies, along with Polo Fire Department, Polo EMS, and the Polo Police department, responded to a two vehicle accident in the 4800 block of South Illinois Route 26. After an investigation it was learned that Sydney J. Gunder, age 18 of Polo, was southbound on Illinois Route 26 when she failed to yield for a vehicle in front of her, which was trying to turn left into a driveway. Gunder then struck the turning vehicle in the rear. The driver of the turning vehicle, Stacey D. Chaney, age 46 of Polo, and a male minor, were transported to CGH Medical Center for minor injuries by Polo EMS. Gunder was also transported by Polo EMS to KSB Hospital for minor injuries. Gunder was issued a citation for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident. Dyers towing and Haldane Auto Body removed the vehicles from the location by the owners request.

One Vehicle Accident

On 12-15-18 at 6:37 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies along with Franklin Grove EMS/Fire, and OSF Life Flight helicopter responded to the report of a single vehicle rollover crash with injuries on Flagg Rd. at Hoosier Rd. After an investigation, it was determined a gray Jeep driven by Nancy Burke, age 60 of Oregon, had left the roadway and entered the south ditch, and continued traveling westbound off of Flagg Rd. The vehicle traveled over Hoosier Rd. and into a field west of Hoosier Rd. The vehicle came to rest in the east ditch of Hoosier Rd., just south of Flagg Rd. Burke was transported to OSF Saint Anthony's hospital by the Life Flight helicopter for non life threatening injuries. Burke was arrested for Driving under the influence of alcohol, and released on a $3000 I-Bond.

Driving While License Revoked and Warrant Arrest

On 12/16/2018 at approximately 10:36 AM Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to 403 Hillcrest Ave in reference to a Domestic Problem which occurred the previous night.  After investigation, Deputies placed Eduardo Diaz, age 37 of Hillcrest, under arrest for Driving While License Revoked, a FTA Driving While License Suspended Ogle County Warrant, and a FTA Driving Under the Influence Rockford Warrant.  Diaz was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

On 12-13-18, Dustin Marx, age 26 of Rockford, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for Failure To Appear. Marx appeared in court and was given a recognizance bond of $3,000.00.  Marx was released after posting bond and will reappear in court on 12-17-18 at 9:00 a.m.

Driving While Under The Influence

On 12-13-18 at about 2042 hours Ogle County Sheriff's deputies, along with Oregon PD, responded to 1000 blk of S IL Rt 2 for a driving complaint. The vehicle was located and stopped, and as a result of the investigation John E. Rodriguez, age 32, of Loves Park was arrested for D.U.I. A passenger in the vehicle Brittany Hyde, age 31, of Ashton was arrested for Unlawful Use of a Weapon. Rodriguez and Hyde were transported to the Ogle County Jail where they were held in lieu of bond. Rodriguez was also cited for improper lane usage.

Domestic Battery

On 12/13/18 at approximately 1740 hours Ogle County Sheriff's deputies, along with Rochelle Police Department, responded to an address in the 200 block of Jeffrey Ave in Hillcrest in reference to a disturbance. After further investigation deputies arrested Gerado Contreras, age 24 of Rochelle for Domestic Battery. Contreras was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

Warrant Arrests

On 12-10-18, Eddie Barbee, age 36 of Paw Paw, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for Theft Under $500. Barbee appeared in court and was given a reduced bond of $1,000/10%. Barbee was released after posting bond and will reappear in court on 12-17-18 at 2:30 p.m.

Driving While License Suspended

On 12/10/18 at approximately 11:29 p.m., Deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 3000 block of South Skare Rd. After further investigation, Benjamin Knowles, age 33 of Stillman Valley, was placed under arrest for Driving While License Suspended. Knowles was also cited for Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, Loud Exhaust, and Possession of Cannabis following a positive alert by the Ogle County K9. Knowles was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

School Bus vs Semi Accident

On 12/10/2018 at approximately 3:14 PM Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a school bus vs semi accident in the 2700 block of West Illinois Route 72.  A Moring Disposal semi tractor/trailer combination being driven by Christopher Wright, age 41 of Freeport, was traveling westbound on Route 72 at which time it was side swiped by a Forrestville Valley School District school bus being driven by Donald Lowman, age 65 of Byron.  Minor injuries were reported.  Deputies were assisted by Leaf River Fire and EMS.  The accident remains under investigation.

Driving While Licesne Suspended

On 12/09/18 at approximately 1:47pm Deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 1000 block of South Freeport Rd. After further investigation Maria Ayala, age 28, of Clinton ,Iowa was placed under arrest for Driving While License Suspended and No Valid Drivers License. Ayala was also cited for Operating an Uninsured motor Vehicle. Ayala was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she was held in lieu of bond.

Warrant Arrest

On 12-06-18, Jonathan Walkup, age 45 of Freeport, was arrested for an outstanding Ogle County warrant for Driving While License Revoked. Walkup was released on a $1,000 recognizance bond and will appear in court on 01-17-19 at 9 a.m.

Two Vehicle Accident

On 12/06/18 at 8:18 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies along with Byron Fire/EMS were dispatched to IL Rt. 2 at Camling Rd. for a two vehicle crash. After an investigation, it was discovered that Andrea Arwood, age 29 of Rockford, had crossed over the center line while traveling northbound on Rt. 2 after swerving to miss a deer. Arwood and the driver of the other vehicle were both transported to Rockford Memorial Hospital for non life-threatening injuries. Arwood was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and she was released on a $3,000 I-bond.

Driving While License Suspended

On 12/6/2018 at approximately 9:53 AM, Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies performed a traffic stop at the intersection of Freeport Rd and IL Route 52.  After investigation, Deputies placed Beverly Lewis, age 40 of Dixon under arrest for a Lee County Contempt of Court warrant and Driving While License Suspended.  Lewis was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

On 12-05-18 the following people were arrested for outstanding Ogle County warrants:
  • Faith Fargher, age 51 of Rock Falls, for Failure to Appear. Fargher posted a $20.00 partial purge and will appear in court on 12-31-18 at 9 a.m.
  • Amber Keener, age 34 of Rockford, for Failure to Appear. Keener was unable to post the bond of $3,253 and remains at the Ogle County Jail. Keener will appear in court on 12-07-18 at 9 a.m.
  • Tesia Grant-Henderson, age 26 of Rockford, for Driving While License Suspended. Grant-Henderson was given a $1,000 recognizance bond and will appear in court on 01-14-19 at 10:45 a.m.

On 12/04/18 the following were arrested for Ogle County Outstanding Warrants:
James Morrison, age 57, of Rockford for Failure to Appear. Morrison has a bond of $6,346, and will go to court on 12/05/18 at 1:00pm. Morrison remains in the Ogle County Jail.
Damien Sims, age 20, of Rockford for Failure to Appear. Sims has a bond for $632, and will go to court on 12/05/18 at 1:00pm. Sims remains in the Ogle County Jail.

One Vehicle Rollover Accident

On December 2, 2018 at 4:53 AM the Ogle County Sheriff's Office, Linscott Rock Fire Department, and Linscott Rock Ambulance responded to a one vehicle rollover accident with injuries in the 15,000 block East Holcomb Rd.  A white Ford Fusion was eastbound on Holcomb Rd when the driver Jacob Doane, age 20 of Davis Junction, failed to negotiate the curve in the road.  Doane's vehicle left the north side of Holcomb Rd, striking a tree, and rolling over on its roof.  Doane was transported to Swedish American Hospital by Linscott Rock Ambulance with minor injuries.  The accident remains under investigation.

Train vs. Truck

On 12/2/2018 at approximately 8:56 AM Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies, Oregon EMS, and Oregon Fire Department responded to the 2400 block of South Rocky Hollow Road at the BNSF Railroad tracks in reference to a train vs truck accident.  Upon arrival, Deputies learned Jeff Pruski, age 43 of Sandwich was driving a 2015 Chevy Colorado and was stopped facing southbound on Rocky Hollow Road just north of the tracks as the train was approaching.  Pruski then drove southbound around the gate arm which was working properly just as the train was approaching the intersection traveling westbound.  The train then struck the driver's side of the truck and was pushed just off the northwest side of the roadway before coming to rest.  Pruski was transported to Mercyhealth Hospital in Rockford in critical yet stable condition.  The accident remains under investigation.

Driving While License Suspended

On 11-29-18, at approximately 8:45 pm, Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies conducted a traffic stop at 201 McConaughy Ave in Rochelle.  After a short investigation Montavion Ross age 35, was arrested for Driving While License Suspended and cited for an equipment violation.

On 11-30-18 William Smalley, age 47 of Rockford was arrested for an outstanding Ogle County Warrant for Failure to Appear with a bond of $1,545.95 Full Cash. Smalley was released on a Recognizance Bond and will appear in court on 12-31-18 at 9:00 am.

One Vehicle Rollover Accident

ON November 29, 2018 AT 4:43 AM THE OGLE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE, LINSCOTT ROCK FIRE DEPARTMENT AND LINSCOTT ROCK AMBULANCE RESPONDED TO A ONE VEHICLE ROLLOVER ACCIDENT ON HOLCOMB ROAD AND ARMOUR ROAD. A GREEN DODGE CARAVAN WAS TRAVELLING WESTBOUND ON HOLCOMB ROAD WHEN THE VEHICLE DROVE INTO THE NORTH DITCH STRIKING A CULVERT. THE VEHICLE THEN WENT AIRBORNE STRIKING A STOP SIGN AND THEN ROLLING OVER SEVERAL TIMES PRIOR TO COMING TO A STOP IN THE FIELD. THE DRIVER OF THE VEHICLE HAD LEFT THE SCENE ON FOOT PRIOR TO EMERGENCY VEHICLES ARRIVING. AFTER A FURTHER INVESTIGATION THE DRIVER KYLE D. SMITH AGE 27 OF BYRON WAS LOCATED AT 109 MAIN ST. HOLCOMB AT 7:24 AM. KYLE WAS UNINJURED FROM THE ACCIDENT AND WAS CITED FOR FAILURE TO REDUCE SPEED TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT, LEAVING THE SCENE OF AN ACCIDENT, FAILURE TO REPORT AN ACCIDENT, AND NO VALID DRIVER’S LICENSE. KYLE WAS GIVEN A JANUARY COURT DATE AND WILL APPEAR IN COURT AT THAT TIME.

Driving While License Suspended

On 11-23-18 at 5:19pm deputies made a traffic stop in the 4000 block of Illinois Rte 2 and arrested Charles Williams, 50, of Franklin Grove for driving while license suspended. Williams also recieved citations for improper use of registration, no seat belt, and no insurance. Williams was held at the Ogle Co Jail in lieu of bond.

On 11-27-18 the following were arrested for outstanding Ogle County Warrants:
  • Heather L Heathcott, age 39 of Mt Morris for Failure to Appear with a $1,200 Full Cash Bond. Heathcott was released on a Recognizance Bond and will appear in court on 11-30-18 at 9:00 am.

Driving While License Revoked

On 11/25/18 at 0056 hours Ogle County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on I39 near Creston Rd for a headlight violation. During the course of the traffic stop it was learned that the driver, Ignacio Gonzalez Cantu, age 36, of Mounds View, MN was driving on a revoked license. He was subsequently arrested for Driving While License Revoked and transported to the Ogle County Jail where he remained in lieu of bond.

One Vehicle Accident

On 11/24/18 at 2253 Deputies along with Byron Police and Fire responded to the 9000 block of North Twin Oaks drive for one vehicle accident.  It was learned that Stanton Lewis 23 of Byron was North bound when he lost control of his motorcycle and came to rest in the center of the roadway.  Lewis was transported to a Rockford hospital for minor injuries.  Lewis was charged with DUI and released on an I-Bond. He will appear in court on 12/20/19 at 9am.  The crash remains under investigation.

Driving While License Revoked

On 11/24/18 at 2008 hours following a traffic stop in the 4000 block of Illinois Rte 2 deputies arrested Gary Barney 53 of Leaf River for Felony Driving While License Revoked, and Driving While License Revoked.  Barney also received citations for no insurance, one head lamp, loud muffler, poss of cannabis and drug equipment.  Barney was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

Driving While License Suspended

On 11/22/2018 at approximately 11:23 AM, Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies performed a traffic stop in the 10,000 block of North Illinois Route 26.  After investigation Deputies placed Joseph Lewis, age 44 of Beloit, Wisconsin, under arrest for a Lee County Contempt of Court Warrant and Driving While License Suspended.  Lewis was transported to the Ogle county Jail where he was held in lieu of bond

Battery

On 11/22/18 at 2:00 PM, Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies, along with the Lynn-Scott-Rock Ambulance, responded to 113 Autumnwood Lane in Davis Junction for a report of two males fighting in the front yard.  Upon investigation Deputies learned that the homeowner had called 911 to report that there were two males fighting in her yard and she did not know who they were.  Deputies then identified the males as Andres M. Varga, age 58 of North Aurora, and William J Werrline IV, age 45 of North Aurora.  The investigation determined that Varga and Werrline had gotten into a fight near by the residence while driving in the area and were walking through the resident's yard creating a disturbance when 911 was called.  Deputies determined that Werrline had bitten Varga in the facial area several times while they were fighting.  Varga was transported to Swedish American Hospital by the Ambulance for treatment of injuries sustained in the incident.  Werrline was subsequently arrested for Battery and was taken into custody without incident.  Werrline was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

On 11-21-18 the following were arrested for outstanding Ogle County Warrants:
  • Ernest D Elswick, age 51 of Oregon for Probation Violation. Elswick posted the $15,000 10% bond and will appear in court on 12-19-18 at 9:00 am.
  • Patrick J Beavers, age 26 of Rochelle for Violation of Bond. Beavers was released after time served.

Warrant Arrest

On 11-19-18 Daniel Moreno, age 27 of Rockford was arrested on an Outstanding Ogle County Warrant for Failure to Appear.  Moreno did not post the $787 Full Cash Bond and remains in the Ogle County Jail. Moreno will appear in court on 11-20-18 at 1:00 pm.

No Valid Driver's License

On 11-20-18 at 1745 hours Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 4000 block of Mud Creek road on a 1995 Honda Civic for no brake lights.  After a short investigation Deputies arrested Tanis O'brien 18 of Dixon Illinois for no valid driver's license and cited for no brake lights.  O'brien was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

Warrant Arrest

On 11-19-18 Kaleb Harrolle, age 19, of Freeport was arrested for Probation Violation and Failure to Appear. Harrolle had a bond of $3,000/10% and $1072. Harrolle was given a $1000 bond recog for both charges. Harrolle was released from the Ogle County Jail, and  will return on 12/10/18 at 10:45 for court.

On 11-18-18 Nicholas Pillion, age 18 of Rochelle was arrested for an outstanding warrant for Consumption of Liquor as a Minor. Pillion did not post the $5,000 10% bond and remains in the Ogle County Jail.  Pillion will appear in court on 11-19-18 at 1:00 pm.

Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol

On 11/17/2018 Ogle County Deputies responded to the 10128 block of East Illinois Route 72 for a vehicle in the ditch.  After an investigation Tiffany R Fabish, age 33 from Davis Junction was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.  Fabish was also cited for Improper Lane Usage, Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Fabish was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she was held in lieu of bond.  

Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol

On 11-16-18 at 8:15 pm, Deputies responded to a hit and run on Gristmill Road east of Chana Road in rural Chana. While canvassing the area Deputies located the offending vehicle. After a short investigation, Trei Sanders age 24 of Freeport was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Driving While License Suspended.  Sanders was also cited for Leaving the Scene of an Accident. Sanders was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.  

One Vehicle Accident with Injury

On 11/17/2018 at approximately 5:47 AM Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies, Oregon EMS, and Mt Morris EMS responded to a one vehicle accident with an injury.  After investigation Deputies learned Andy Mcclearin, age 44 of Rock Falls was traveling northbound in the 1,000 block of North Daysville Rd in his Ford Focus.  Mcclearin was driving around a curve when he lost control on the snow covered road and traveled off the east side of the roadway before striking a tree head on.  Mcclearin was transported to KSB Hospital by Mt Morris  EMS for minor injuries.

Driving While License Suspended

On November 13th, 2018, approximately  2:23 PM, Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Dixon and Union Streets in Polo.  After an investigation, William D. Murray, 61, of Polo, was arrested for Driving While Licensed Suspended and Obstructing Identification.  Murray was additionally cited for Operating Uninsured Vehicle.

Warrant Arrests

On 11-16-18 the following were arrested for outstanding Ogle County Warrants
  • James T Spain, age 32 of Stillman Valley for Driving While License Suspended/Revoked.  Spain posted the $3,000 10% bond and was released with a 12-07-18 court date.
  • San Mateo Trejo Jr, age 24 of Chicago for Failure to Appear ($864 Full Cash) and Petition to Revoke ($3,000 10%). Trejo remains in the Ogle County Jail and will appear in court on 11-19-18 at 1:00 pm.

Domestic Battery

On 11/15/2018 at approximately 0141 hours Deputies responded to 504 S. Valley View Drive Apt. # 3 in reference to a physical domestic.  After investigation Deputies placed Michael Pierce, age 32 of Stillman Valley under arrest for Domestic Battery.  Pierce was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held pending a court appearance in front of a judge.   

Two Vehicle Accident

On 11/15/18 at approximately 1304 hours Deputies responded to a two vehicle accident on Illinois Rt 38 near the intersection of Woodlawn Rd.  A eastbound car being driven by Brianna Baker, age 19 of Rochelle was unable to maintain control of the vehicle on the snow covered roadway.  Baker's vehicle struck the rear of a semi tractor-trailer being driven by Jose Contreras-Barrera, age 31 of Mexico.  No injuries were reported as a result of the accident.  The accident remains under investigation.

TWO VEHICLE ACCIDENT

On November 15, 2018 AT 1305 HOURS THE OGLE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE, ROCHELLE FIRE DEPARTMENT, ROCHELLE AMBULANCE, AND THE ILLINOIS STATE POLICE RESPONDED TO A TWO VEHICLE ACCIDENT IN THE 19,000 BLOCK E. RT. 38. A GREEN FORD ESCAPE WAS TRAVELING EASTBOUND ON RT. 38 WHEN THE DRIVER, DEMI SMITH, AGE 21 OF CRESTON LOST CONTROL AND SLID INTO THE WESTBOUND LANE. SMITH’S VEHICLE WAS STRUCK BY A WESTBOUND SEMI TRACTOR TRAILER COMBINATION DRIVEN BY ALAN WHITE AGE 52 OF MAPLE PARK. BOTH SMITH AND WHITE REFUSED MEDICAL ATTENTION AT THE SCENE.

Warrant Arrests

On 11-15-18 the following were arrested for outstanding Ogle County Warrants:
  • On 11/15/18 Tina Cupp, age 50, of Rochelle was arrested for Failure To Appear. Cupp had a bond of $1457.57 full cash. Cupp could not post bond and will remain in the Ogle County Jail. Cupp will return to court on 11/16/18 at 1:00 pm.
  • On 11/15/18 Ethan Eklund, age 21, of Oregon was arrested for Failure To Appear. Eklund had a bond of $1,795.00 full cash. Eklund could not post bond and will remain in the Ogle County Jail. Eklund will return to court on 11/16/18 at 1:00 pm.
  • On 11/15/18 Gregory Stone, age 39, of Rockford was arrested for Failure To Appear. Stone had a bond of $1921.00 full cash. Stone could not post bond and will remain in the Ogle County Jail. Stone will return to court on 11/16/18 at 1:00 pm.
  • On 11/15/18 Jonathan Early, age 25, of Rockford was arrested for Failure To Appear and Credit Card Fraud. Early had a bond of $10,000.00/10% and $1,000.00 full cash. Early could not post bond and will remain in the Ogle County Jail. Early will return to court on 11/26/18 at 1:00 pm.
  • On 11/15/18 Myron Simmons, age 45, of Normal was arrested for Failure To Appear. Simmons had a bond of $994.00 full cash. Simmons could not post bond and will remain in the Ogle County Jail. Simmons will return to court on 11/16/18 at 1:00 pm.

Driving While License Suspended

On 11-15-18, at approximately 2100 hours, Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 8000 block of IL Rte 251. Upon further investigation, Jonna Blatchford was arrested for Driving While License Suspended and No Valid Driver's License. Blatchford was also cited for speeding. Blatchford was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she was held in lieu of bond.

Warrant Arrests

On 11-13-18 the following were arrested for outstanding Ogle County Warrants:
  • Amanda L Countryman, age 28 of Compton was arrested for Failure to Appear. Countryman posted the $3,697 Full Cash Bond and was released with no further court date needed.
  • Michael Frey, age 53 of Rock Falls was arrested for Failure to Appear. Frey posted $75 of the $2,790 Full Cash Bond and was released with a court date of  11-26-18 at 9:00 am.
  • Jason D Shrader, age 38 of Freeport for Failure to Appear. Shrader posted $75 of the $386 Full cash Bond was released with a 11-26-18 9:00 am court date.

Warrant Arrest

On 11/14/18 Matthew Leather, age 29, of Oregon was arrested for Failure to Appear warrant.  Leather had a bond of $1,153, Leather was given a bond after court for $125. Leather posted the $125 bond and was relased from the Ogle County Jail. Leather will return to court on 11/26/18 at 9:00 am.

Warrant Arrest

On 11-12-18 Raheem J Martin, age 25 of Dixon was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County Warrant for Failure to Appear.  Martin did not post the $475 Full Cash Bond and remains in the Ogle County Jail. Martin will appear in court on 11-13-18 at 1:00 pm.

Warrant Arrest

On 11/12/18 Michelle Smitherman, age 34, of Mt. Morris was arrested for Operate Uninsured Motor Vehicle. Smitherman had a bond of $2000/10%. Smitherman could not post bond and will remain in the Ogle County Jail. Smitherman will return to court on 11/13/18 at 1:00 pm.

Warrant Arrest

On 11-12-18 Carli D Janecek, age 21 of Mt Morris was arrested for an outstanding Ogle County Warrant for Failure to Appear. Janecek posted the $212.18 Full Cash Bond and was released with no further court date needed.

One Vehicle Accident

On 11/09/18 at approximately 6:50 a.m. Deputies responded to a single vehicle accident in the 9500 block of North Kishwaukee Rd. A northbound vehicle being driven by Lisa Cortinas, age 23 of Rockford, lost
