Welcome and thank you for taking the time to visit the Solid Waste Management Department's web page. As our former Director, Mr. Steve Rypkema, has retired and is ready to head off to new adventures, the Solid Waste Management Department is on solid footing and prepared to offer the same level of service and commitment to the community.
While Steve has departed after over 30 years of service to the citizens of Ogle County, his steadfast leadership and commitment both to the citizens of the county and to the environment have established a county department that is recognized state-wide as a leader in the field.
As we move forward with our mission, the department will continue to prioritize waste reduction and recycling, look to expand on community recycling initiatives, and continue with our delegation partnership with the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency for matters of solid waste enforcement of both state and local regulations and ordinances.
I look forward to new challenges, but also new opportunities, and look to maintain current relationships and foster new relationships in our work to assist the citizens of Ogle County to rethink, reduce, reuse and recycle.
Sincerely,
Paul Cooney
